Today i went outside and i was asking for a bus route to some people.most of them didn't know that route and some of them were not very sure about what they are saying. I saw a women passing by me and i asked her about this but she said with action that she cant speak or hear and i came to know that she is physically challenged. what i wondered about her is she told that with a great smile.. i was very happy about her attitude!! She looked really confident you know..and finally she helped me the way out. i was just curious to share her attitude..

This kind of person is a blessing to encounter. I'd say she has learned how to be grateful for the basic things of life. And, I believe gratitude is the path to joy. To wake up each morning and be thankful that you've made another trip around the sun is to appreciate the beginning of a new day.

I agree with you trillium. She was a wonderful girl with a strong personality. Not all people who have defects posses that kind of personality. I think she was just doing what she knows is the best. She appreciates even small details in her life and know how to be thankful. Perhaps, she already fathom that life is not a bed of roses but it is more like a wheel who keeps on rotating. She just to be happy our of her unwanted condition. I can say that she is ever better than normal people who cannot see the beauty that they have because of being normal.

Hey there. :) You know, seeing people like this happy always makes me feel happy. :) It's, as you very well put it, in their attitude. I see someone like that with a smile on their face and my day brightens up a bit, simply because of the thought that they feel alright. These are people whose life became terribly difficult, perhaps over night; but people that overcame their difficulty, one way or another, and are now trying their best to have a regular life. They are the people that truly appreciate what was given to them. Their attitude is, or at least should be and inspiration to everyone out there.

I am happy that you got to the location alas! In my point there is not attitude involved here. Those who really don't know would say nothing but "Sorry, I don't know". People who are confused either slip away or give you wrong address. That women might have known the place better, so you got the answer.

I like reading your post. We have two situation here. Try to picture out a person with complete body parts. Yet she had that grumpy look in her face as if she had the rest of the world behind her back. Some of us forget to wear a smile in our face and we think we are the unluckiest people here on earth.
I also have experienced meeting somebody who had one arms. He lost his hand in a car accident. But instead of feeling pity for himself he appears to be proud and always smiling. He is a positive example for the rest of us that no matter what happen we must not let the negative situation affects our life.

Really nice and refreshing incident sharing. Usually when we meet some physically challenged person, we feel gloomy, sad. But some of them are having such attitude make us inspire. Same as that girl impacted on you by her smile, that you wrote line for her.
The famous example I can give of the same kind of attitude is, the movie "PAA" where not even in a single minute I felt the gloomy to see the gloomy Progeria caught Amitabh Bachachan. That must be the attitude towards life.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

People like this seem very hard to find these days, but being physically challenged is something that this lady has probably had to live with for most of, if not all, of her life. Just because she is challenged does not mean she would have a bad attitude if approached in the street.

i wish normal people would behave like her..ya know although she can't tell you straight away the route and she can just even ignore you if she wants too before she has difficulties to cummunicate but she act differently..people nowadays sometimes are reluctant to help each other even when we really need it..i know you must have a nice day today because of that..
