Does any one think Dirk Nowitzki will opt out of his contract with Dallas, and go elsewhere to try his hand at winning a championship?
I don't see it working out for him if he stays on the Mavs. Unless he's willing to take a pay cut, They won't be able to get a super star to play along side the guy. J. Kidd can still get it done at point, but he's been on the down slope of his career.
I know Mark Cuban has a big man crush on Dirk, but this guy is not one of the elite players in the NBA. He's very good during the regular season, but they can't advance past the first round against Tim "Father Time" Duncan, and Manu "puddy face" Ginobili. The Spurs were like a M.A.S.H. unit during most of the regular season. I expected the Mavs to win in 5.
He needs someone with toughness, and a high basketball IQ to show up, and take some of the weight off his shoulders.

i think hes best off going to another team and i think he will go to another team. i think dirk is the best overall shooter in the league but he needs to go to a defensive minded team. i also think he needs a better second scorer as a teammate to take the load off of him.

Dirk Nowitzki could have land to another unless Mark Cuban will make tough decisions of signing another superstar in the name of Lebron James or Dwyane Wade. The Dalls Mavericks can afford those players but have to release other player. Jason Kidd has a remarkable career in the NBA but I guess his time is over.
