Honesty is the best policy. But there are certain moments when we have to tell white lies to motivate our close friends or relatives when they are despondent. At such moments a harmless white lie is okay. But if the matter is something serious having future repercussions its best we come out with the truth rather than speaking falsehood.Even if the truth is bitter or has an effect on us in the form of strained relations its best we speak truth than give false hopes.

It is true sometimes telling the truth can hurt. Personally I like to be very plain and brute about things. For example my sister today asked me if I liked her dress. Not thinking I flat out told her, No. She seemed a little upset but if you cannot prepare yourself for the answer than don't ask. Sometimes not volunteering information on the other hand is not a bad thing, since you are not lieing. But when asked a question you should always try and be honest about it because when they say one little lie can lead to a bigger lie it is true. If you are honest from the getgo nothing can really go wrong, you may be upset or disappointed with the other person's reaction to your honesty but in the long run you'll benefit from it! Cheers!

depend on the situation, but for me being honest is not a bad thing, your just being true to others, in some other point like in the movie, most of the honest person get killed by the bad guy and it really happen in real world, there's a lot of people living in lies to protect their own life.
