How many of us will read the book more than once?

I have bought many books recently. I have read them and reread them so many times. I read comics many times at regular intervals. I like reading books again. Usually a few months will go by before I read it again.
How about you? Do you reread a book you have already read? How much of an interval do you have between the read the reread? What kind of books do you feel like reading all over again.

It depends on which kind book it is,and how much I like the book,I think some books do worth reading them again and again,I read my favorite novel again and again even I nearly can recite the book, but some books are just once-a-time-read,rereading them is just a waste of time, after finishing my favorite book,I will think about the book in my mind,if I can't recall the episode in the book,I will reread that book till I can.

I have a number of books hat I go back and read every once in a while. Leon Uris I stated reading years ago in high school. he wrote "The Exodus" "The Haj" and more about the Middle East. Another Author I like is James Michener. He wrote very long book with great detail. These books are fiction with a historical background. I also like to read Pearl S. Bucks books about the far East. I'm not familiar with any Indian authors but would like to be. Could you recommend some?

Well Indian authors. I am not sure how much you will like them. As the English novels written by Indian authors are still in the infancy stage where refinement is concerned. Otherwise you have Deepak Dalal Chetan Bhagat and Shobha De to name a few who write in English. You also have Jim Corbett writing about his experiences in India and the animals.

I love to read but I have to say there are very few books I'd read twice. I did read "Gone with the Wind" when I was a kid and then again as a teen and again as an adult. O read VC Andrews series "flowers in the attic" when I was in my 20s and again a couple of years ago....almost 30 years later!

There are very few books that I'll re-read. And, most of them I don't have access too. So I don't bother trying to find them. Libery of congress would send me books, but I've never read them more then once, some not at all. It depends if the book catches my attention enough.

I love re-reading books. If the book is really good, I'll re-read it immediately. Others I would have to wait a month or two before reading them again. It's kind of like meeting an old friend again, I suppose. I know that some people don't like re-reading because the plot line is the same, and there aren't any surprises left. However, I find it comforting. Plus, if I wait long enough, I'll have forgotten what the story is about, and I'll read it another time to refresh my memory.

i'm with you there. i too reread books although the interval is long. that's because i don't really buy books, instead i borrow from the library. and sometimes, i may forget that i've read a particular title and won't even recognise when i've read the synopsis. that's usually because the interval is like months or even years later. ehehe
for me, i definitely prefer to read romantic suspense novels. well so long as there is a little of romance with action, any novel is fine, be it paranormal, suspense, thriller, historical. but i do have moods sometimes like, these few weeks i've been in the mood to read some paranormal romance, and before that, it was those, military romance kind of things, you know what i mean? so what i'm reading now depends on my mood. sometimes there may be a good story but i won't be interested because i'm looking for other genres then.

I rarely reread books. I like reading new stories too much. I could probably count the number of books I've read twice and come up with less than ten. The books I've read three times on one hand. Usually it's YEARS before I reread a book again. At least five, though I've read a few over again after only a year. The books I do read again are the ones that I really enjoyed and really want to experience all over again, remind myself of all the details, and rediscover why I loved it so much the first time.

I agree that there are some books I have read after a couple of years. But like I cant buy new books every other day can I. I usually buy one or two new books every month or two. So when I finish reading the new one and still have some time when I feel like reading, then I read a book which I liked but have not read for a while.

I like buying new books and I usually buy a few dozen at a time, but it's many months between shopping trips. If I run out of books in the meantime then I just go to the library. It's great for free-reads when I need my book fix! I also borrow books from friends. I wish I could buy new books every other day. That would be great fun.

Yeah, specially books that I really love. Or sometimes, books that I have not really understood the first time. LOL. I usually read it around a year later, cause it really makes a difference, cause it makes you absorb more, and thus appreciating the book better than before.

I've read and reread the book of Antoine de Saint Exupery, the Little Prince for the nth times. It's my favorite book since I was in 7th grade. I love the characters on this book. It portrays different types of people.

It depends on the type of book. Say its a literature book then i'll read it about 3 times. It gives me a better understanding and indepth grasp of the book.

Yes I do read books for the second time but that's usually after several years so by then I have forgotten a lot of the things I read so it doesn't matter too much and it seems like I am reading it for the first time. I don't read comics but books like the Harry Potter series I have read over several times, one of the reasons being that at school I didn't enjoy any other books apart from those and wanted to be Harry Potter rofl.

There are some books that I have read more than once, but most of the books I only read once, because I usually prefer to read new books. I have read the "The nihilesthete" by Richard Kalich 3 times and I have read "After the hole" by Guy Burt twice. There is an Norwegian author called Ingvar Ambjornsen, he has written a couple of books about a charater called Elling. I have read 3 of those books twice, and I still find them very funny and well-written. The last one haven't been translated to Danish, so I am thinnking about buying the Norwegian version instead. I usually don't reread books straight away, I prefer to wait a few years.

I re read many of my books. Especially the ones on personal and professional development such as the Holy Bible, and How to Win Friends and Influence People and Think and Grow Rich.
I read a bit from each of these books each week, usually repeating the later two about ever 15 weeks or so. I have read different parts of the Bible over, however, I do not think I have read the whole thing through as of yet.
I like to keep the information I learn fresh in my mind so that I may apply it constantly in my life this is what seems to work best for me.
Sincerely and With Appreciation.

I also had this syndrome of re reading books. the interval does depend on the kind of books. If I read romance book, I would intend to re read it after an hour, but only to the chapter were i felt good about it, I mean on the climax thing. I am also into spiritual/philosophical books, self help/psychological books. I would tend to re read this group of books if I wanted to confirm some theories or I felt like I needed the advice and I knew i could have found it in that part of that book.
Nice post. =)
