I define my goal by considering where i am right now then calculating how far success is. If it is too far then i'll cut the steps into several goals. There should be a landmark. Like if i wanna have a car but i'm still studying, my goal will be to finish studying first. :)

Oh it's about the same by settings the goals in short, mid and long terms, right? It's interesting to know the goals are put as the landmark. What think, by doing that we will know whether the goals are able to be achieved or not. If can't be achieved in targeted time, the new landmark will be set..Thanks for sharing frontvisions101..

Hmm, mostly I think about long-term. Right now my goals for the future are to finish my college education and become a teacher, visit an exotic place, marry my boyfriend, have kids and publish our novel. My short term goals usually include just having fun, working part-time in order to save for college, trying new foods and learning new things. What about you?

Oh how nice to know about your goal settings.I used to set the goals that I want to achieve in 6-month time(short term), in 1 year time (mid term) and more than 1 year time (long term). My long term goals are about the same with yours since I'm still a student excluding become a teacher, marry my boyfriend (girlfriend instead..hehe) and publish novel where they are more on family oriented goals. For the short and mid term goals, they are more on myself such as accomplished my fitness schedule and academic oriented tasks.
