Alas. .. this is going to be a very shocking news to all HINDUs. Raja Gopuram, or the entrance tower of this temple, is about 37 mtrs height the RAJA GOPURAM, which was built by SriKrishnaDevaraya ... of the famous VIJAYANAGAR EMPIRE, in the year A.D 1516 to commemorate his victory over GAJAPATHIS. BUT, the collapse of this has been forewarned by his own court astrologers. This collapse and capsizing is supposed to bring 7 YEAR FAMINE to this area. The temple tower.. is of SRI KALA HASTHI, dedicated to SHIVA GOD. and, this temple town, Srikalahasthi is very famous in the HINDU religious scriptures. This is about 40 kilometers away from another temple town, TIRUPATHI. the tower collapsed totally, around 8 p.m, Indian Time, today, 26th May, 2010. Having developed cracks after the recent cyclonic gales. Alas. The TOWER totally COLLAPSED.. due to negligence

lucky for those living around. They all believed in the prediction, and vacated the area .. since the past three days.. and, AUTHORITIES have forced others living around, to move away from that area, last night itself. But, dirty protocol... they have sent a request to the government to sanction money and help.. but, alas. it is just a rubble now. .............thanks for sharing the pain of hindu sentiments.

I dont believe in astrology! For an educated person, you shock me! I mean, there is a way to predict everything across the universe. We are all interlinked with mathematical equations. But I dont believe we humans have mastered the art yet! So I predict there will be 7 years of good rains in the state, and that consultrainer is going to give me free medication for each of those years because his prophecy went

consultrainer, Going along with what you have claimed so far about the collapse of this historical relic where you said us due to negligence and that the AUTHORITIES there have been forcing residents in that neighborhood to move away - I just find that the collapse is too circumstantial to be an accident but more of a sinister conspiracy. It is really bad and a real pity for a demise of a historical relic where it had withstood the times and harsh elements but not the cruel will of men. However, I do believe that there will be consequences, for what goes round comes around and the ones responsible will face their karma they sowed.

yes. it is too circumstantial.... the authorities neglected all maintainance. and, they also kept themselves busy with making arrangements for the commercial complexes... like, bringing in a JCB drilling machine, to dig bore wells, in the very vicinity of the TOWER.. and by digging very deep trenches around the structure, for the sake of DRAINING out the waste water of the hotels around the temple. that way, they weakened the foundation... but, alas. as you said, .. there will be consequences... and,... ? ? ?

Hi consultrainer, This is very sad thing. Our government should take precaution earlier. Such temples will not be rebuild again. Though Money or manpower is there that planning, engineering, designing i wouldn't think is existing now.

Yeah, political mis management, recklessness, don't know the value of our heritage and traditional prospects. Least bother about protect our culture and least bother to save our ancient property. Daily some or the other issues they will rise and throw stones on others and on the property and they are the first to destroy.

hiya conslutrainer!, oops, sorry...i mean consultrainer what a tragic piece of news about the temple! i just saw some news updates. lucky thing there was no one hurt there. but police say maybe 100 monkeys got killed if only the maintenance guys, or the people in charge of it paid a bit more attention..things could have been avoided..

latest reports indicate missing women and 270 monkeys... !!!

it's almost the same case throughout the world. too many people seldom pay attention to preventative maintenance..thinking that it takes too much time, too much money, too much effort.. don't they realize that cleaning up rubble from a collapsed building & looking for survivors take up a whole lot more time, effort & money? it's all such a waste in the end. and people lose their lives due to negligence again..

fortunately, there were some IIT professors, who visited the site a day before, and declared a 150 feet radius RED ZONE. So, all those in the surroundings have cleared away. ... only the police were doing rounds, when the 4th floor of the structure started collapsing. and within 15 minutes, the entire structure fell down to rubble. ============ hope the prophecy does not come true...
