Anyone heard of "Chillwave"? A big fan? Very much against it? Do you think the people who make these kind of music are trying way too hard and are not actually talented? Discuss :) -Favorite Chillwave Band? -Favorite Song? -Best time to listen to chillwave?

it's this emerging genre from synthpop, with very nostalgic 80s beats and even samples, really chilled-out electro music. I couldn't explain it very well so maybe you should try to listen to it some more and see if you like it or not (many dont like it). If you give it a try, I suggest you listen to: Neon Indian Washed Out Toro Y Moi So yeah, I hope its your kind of music and that you'll get to know more about Chillwave genre :)

I am not a big fan of electronica music, but I am eager to try this out since the word Chill sounds intruguing, I have listened to chill out in the past. I will check this out and tell you what I think later. I will comment on this discussion. Have a nice weekend.

Just checked them out on Youtube. I am not really into Neon indian but Washed out was pretty cool. It really reminds us of the 80's. It's not my kind of music, but it does not disturb me at all like some rap and pop music do. I am more into Rock stuffs. Chillwave music is gentle and relaxing, so might give it a try but I certainly will return to a more rock atmosphere after a week or two. The closest music to chillwave I have listen until now is billy corgan's song "mina". You can check it out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM6KDQNxLKM
