Welcome to mylot friend, running or walking fast may help, you can also try the yogic breathing exercises as taught by Ramdeb baba of india, it is highly effective..

You can not "spot" lose weight but you can strengthen your muscles and resolve to lose the excess weight.
When I gain weight it goes right to my middle. I've read a lot and each persons body metabolizes differently.
I say do core strength training of any form (sit-ups, crunches, oblique twists, balancing on a bosu ball etc) at least twice a week.
Change what it is making you gain weight. You are gaining quickly you say so you must have recently adopted a change in your life that your body is responding to....STOP IT. Do you suddenly drink more soda? Have a new sedentary job? Have extreme stress?
Stress makes a person gain in the middle as it creates cortisol which is stored as a specific type of fat that is very difficult to get rid of!! Try some yoga. Yoga is fantastic for stress relief AND core strength.

you cannot just flatten a bulging stomach due to weight gain without dieting. due that first.

I think that you should do some exercise, any cardio exercise will do. You can't make your belly flat when you still have fats all over your body. I have it too, I did all sit-ups and all those abdominal exercises but nothing works, I tried cardio exercise and it worked, it made my belly smaller. So I concluded that cardio exercise will help you lose weight and flatten your belly. I have an extreme cardio workout which really works. And if you want to flatten your abs, control what you're eating.

i use to do sit ups... and hula hoops everytime i feel that my tummy is getting big.. i think it helps...
