Imagine if you lived in a world where no one could be trusted and where a person had to maintain guard against everyone. Has anyone ever experienced such a thing for any period of time or have a family member or close friend feel like this? How did this person overcome it?

Wait we don't live in a world like that? What makes you think that anyone on this planet is truly trustworthy? People are consistently hurting each other, abandoning those who are in need and turning away from those in pain. Neglect of the individual and the soul has been an ongoing problem. Being reasonable and rationally viewing the world and knowing that you are going to be hurt and that is simply how it is is not something that needs to be overcome. It is always better to be able to face the truth from the get go.

One has to always remain careful when thinking about other people, but it would be truly horrible to live in a world where one couldn't even trust another human being. People wouldn't form relationships or live together or develop families.
