How do you find reliable survey sites?

When finding survey sites to make extra money how do you go about finding the reliable and honest ones? Do you go on friends recommendations? Do you research the sites? Do you just sing up and hope for the best? Do you search other sites for information? If so which sites do you use?

I am signed up for quite a few survey sites my favorite is www.mysurvey.com you earn points which you can cash in for cash or other prizes.

I paid for a list of survey sites years ago which turned out to be a waste of money, because a lot of the sites I applied to weren't interested because of where I live - Australia; USA residents were fine though. However, most of the sites I was able to join for surveys through this paid list, never even sent me any! 
Over the past two years, I have found the best way to find reliable and honest sites is through word of mouth and recommendations from friends (some of them being mylotters).

I usually sign up based on a recommendations I read on sites like this. I have been a member of the same survey sites for many, many years. There are a few that I have signed up for that I dropped because they just didn't seem legit. Also, sometimes, when I am taking surveys, the survey may ask if I am a member of any survey site. They will often provide a list for me to check off which sites I am a member of. I copy that list and email it to myself. I then go through the list and join any sites that I am not already a member of. I figure if a legitimate survey site is listing other sites then they are probably legit. I have signed up for some great survey sites that way.

I have several listed on my blog. My favorite is survey savvy. They send you checks in the mail. And you can request payment at just a dollar

Hi there I started off doing survey's and there is 2 sites i really like and i ve been paid from 1 of them they are,
cashbackresearch.com- u get 2 survey's daily earning a £1.00 for the both of them and they pay out at £5.00
palmresearch.com - again 2 daily survey's earning a £1.00 each survey with the option to do more.
i found these 2 the best
