I'm using the term "music" loosely here... Eurovision

Have there been any Eurovision winners that you liked? Were you an Abba or Bucks Fizz fan or a devotee of Sir Cliff maybe? I think my favourite was the one from Finland by a band called Lordi (I wonder if they're still performing?) It wasn't some slushy or 'pop-y' stuff & the costumes were fabulous... a breath of fresh air to a stale and politically biased "contest" (& I use that term loosely too)

The only half decent eurovision acts were Lordi from Finland around 2006.

Lordi were fun - hilariously fantastic seeing people in monster costumes seeing about how The Devil Is A Loser on and winning Eurovision
Lena (this years winning song/artist from Germany) was good apart from the Lilly Allen/Kate Nash mockney moments - "I did it just the other day" killer earworm though.

Hiya Wizz,
I enjoyed that Group "Lordi" too have never seen them since either but I enjoyed them and I was glad they won what a difference. Spains entry for the Eurovision actually I think it was the same Year that Lordi won I would have crept under the Bed and never come out. It was the most awful act they have ever sent to that place. Term I use loosely as well.
But now I laugh about it. Oddly enough this Year I have not seen Eurovision at all. Every Year these three like to make it impossible for me to be able to sit and watch it all the way through. But one of the Main Spanish Channels confused a lot of People giving them to understand it was on the next week.
I will catch up on that when I can as they never give a repetition of it the next Day like they used to.
Englands entry is always quite good so I don´t why it was down the Bottom of the pile. I thought Spains entry was only brightened up by the fact that a Spanish Guy jumped into their Act and made out like he was part of the Group. I don´t condone it not at all. But I suspect that it may well have given them a boost and extra points? The Song was not that brilliant not bad but not brilliant.
Did you see what happened? I saw it about two days later and he has been fined 2,000 Euros. He says he would do it again but I find him a joy killer and not the opposite. If he were doing it for some strong reason as a protest but it was nothing to do with that at all. Sorry to say that was what happened he is just a fame seeker.

I did see the guy join in but assumed he was just part of the act until they let Spain sing again. I dont even remember the songs now but I think it was Turkey's that i quite liked & I thought the French one would be popular as it was a bit 'singalong' (I think.... might've been someone else)

Hiya Wizz,
Yes he was a gatecrasher just to get the attention for himself. I thought it was really mean of him to ruin someone else´s Day and they are trying to make some kind of Hero out of him which of course he is not. Although I did not care much for the Spanish Song he had no right to be there doing that and what about the Security?.
Still that´s life for you.

I like Abba definitely and maybe Lordi, because they are different from all that silly songs that all the performers are presenting nowadays. Everybody wants to be interesting and different but in fact they sound the same every time. I haven't heard a song that I'd have wanted to have and to listen on my Ipod or on my PC. The last Eurovision I saw a band called Manga I think from Turkey. Their song was catchy and a little rock-orientated but I gave it three or four listens and that was it. All the other songs were crap and I don't see a decent musician coming with a really, really good song in the next years. I hope I will be proven wrong.

The only Eurovision winners I can name are ABBA, and yes, I did like them.
Have you seen the movie Mama Mia? It's great the way a whole story is woven around their music.

Hiya Wizzy,
I was able to look up a few Eurovision Entries this morning and I was very impressed with a few. Won´t say which ones I don´t like. I loved Irelands entry I thought that was really beautiful such a lovely Song and she sings so well also.
I listened to the entry from Moldova, Georgia and Romania and I liked them all. The Romanian Girl is really beautiful and a great singer but so are the other too that I have mentioned. Actually I saw an entry for Spain that was supposed to have been chosen and then they opted for this one. But I still considered this other one to be a bit on the weak side too but not as bad as the other Spanish one.
I also listened to Turkey too and there song is quite catchy something you can remember long after.
