Have you ever been to a funeral?

One of my family's closest friends passed away a week or so ago. It was really sad, but we were not shocked. She has lived a pretty long, love-filled life. I've never been to a funeral before, let alone experience a death of a loved one in my adult life (except for my pets).
This one will be the first funeral I've ever attended, and to top it off it's the day before my birthday in June.
I'm a little nervous about going. I really don't know what the proper etiqeutte is for funerals, and how/what to talk about with the other attendees. :o

Hi Olisaur, sorry to hear that...what do you mean "she has lived a pretty long"? I was thinking she has been ill for a period of time or she lived at the age of 100. Which is which?

yup i have been to funnerals many times before and i don't like to be there in the first place because i don't want to see the sad faces of people who are close to me.. that is the only thing that i hate there. it makes me sad too when they are sad.. when i go to funneral i just keep quiet until the ceremony ends.. and i go home i don't want to be happy there..
