Will you lie on purpose?

You're right. It's never good to lie just for the heck of it. I'd rather lie if It's needed like for instance my 6 yrs old cousin asked me where she came from. That's a good time to lie. I said she came from a magic well. :)

I think it will depend on the situation.. if i had to lie so that i could hide the truth then so be it. i know it is a sin but there are critical situation where i must hide some truth. inorder for me to be able to escape from reality. it really depends on the person where he must decide which would he take.. to lie or to be honest with his/her self..

Hi AjaySingh, to make someone to feel rather relief or to make certain situation easy and relaxed there is no harm to tell a white lie sometimes I suppose. Yeah, it's not encouraging to adopt such bad habit for sure if to lie all the time for taking own benefit. Our friends won't trust us anymore as they don't know when is the time we tell genuinely Definitely no one would believe us anymore if telling lie frequently. Just like what we have learned from the typical story The Boy Who Cried Wolf during our childhood. How severe the situation is if we come across people who are good in sweet talk. I trust all those sugared words and honeyed phrases are huge lie. I would have gooseflesh when hearing someone taking advantage by uttering those sweet but lying words without turning a hair Take care and happy posting

The only two reasons I would lie are to protect a loved one fro harm and to keep a secret so a surprise would remain a surprise.

hi AjaySinghBaghel. well, everybody lies. no saint hasn't done this. it's ok to make this mistake. at times lying is for survival. however, if a lie is done deliberately to hurt or cheat on another person, then it is not ok to lie. but there is always a white lie that we call. but generally, lying is the break of honesty.

Hi Ajay, I like your honest admission that you lied. And I too admit, I lie. Sometimes to see that the other person is not hurt, sometimes to see that I am not hurt. Sometimes for gains. But lying so that the other person who is not good to me gets into soup is something I have not done so far. May be I didnt get an opportunity to do that. Would I do so? I dont know. I dont think so. My deals with god have always been give me this, and give me that. And not dont give this to that person, or do that harm to that person. There is a difference, and that would be my nature in this context. :) BTW - I went to Pratibha's blog. :) Will write something soon enough. :) Drafting it. :)
