Ebay is better because it is!

I don't know, I tend to have better overall experiences with Amazon.

Amazon has a better customer satisfaction guarantee, since it's fully backed by Amazon, but half the fun of buying on Ebay is bidding on items to try to get the best deal. What is it about Amazon that you think is cool?

Well first, I like being able to go and buy something when I want to without worrying about being outbid. I also have more of a chance to get the kind of items I like brand new. Second,I have a site that I use to compare the prices of cds, dvds, and books that I want. The majority of time the lowest price for my items is on amazon. I would also like to mention that I have been screwed out of items on both sites, ebay did nothing while with amazon I got the choice between a product replacement or a refund. So I guess you could say that I trust Amazon more than Ebay. (Screwed once on Amazon, Screwed four times on Ebay) Also, I like the fact that many of the other sites that I use for swapping items will allow me to add items from my amazon wishlist on their wishlist. (This often means that several things I want that have never been on the site can be posted so it does not just help me)

I totally understand what you are saying about buying something outright without having to worry about being outbid but I personally enjoy the thrill of the bid at times. It's fun to see how good of a deal you can get by bidding. You are right though, there are many times that you can get a better deal on Amazon than Ebay. You really just have to do the research & make a smart purchase. There are also certain items that you can get on Ebay for less than on Amazon. Plus, on Ebay you have the option of buying a "lot" of similar goods and when you start purchasing "lots," that is where the great deals are found. As for getting screwed four times on Ebay & only once on Amazon (& with Amazon you got your $ back or another product, so you didn't get screwed in the end), I agree 100% that Amazon provides a safer buying place because they have a guarantee on their purchase. Ebay definitely needs to improve that!

I like Ebay better because they can give deep discounts and just the fact that you can use paypal to also sell your stuffs is good for me. As for Amazon, I only like to buy books from there. Selling there is kind of problematic because i can't post my own pictures of products and their payment processor is not very user friendly.

With Amazon, it has to be a registered product in the Amazon inventory. They give it an ASIN number. That's the only reason it's so problematic to sell things. The pictures come along with the registered product in Amazon's inventory. Now that I think about it, after explaining it, it is kind of problematic and maybe redundant and not user-friendly.

hi roleez1 I do disagree as e verytime I have bought something really cheap I have been made to pay twice as much postage as my savings so 'what is so great about that. 'Buy something on Amazon and the shipping is more reasonable. so I really like amazon much better.

I enjoy using ebay. I tend to find better bargains on Ebay than on Amazon. I also like the bidding process. It is very important to remember the shipping price while you are bidding. If bid + shipping is more than I would want to pay then I would not bid on the item.

Well, I like ebay because of the major discounts! But amazon is more trustworthy I think. Actually, I'm just starting out with ebay, and I can't wait to start buying and selling!
