Were Real Madrid Right To Discard Manuel Pellegrini After Just One Season?

The Merengues have chewed through nine different coaches during which time the club won just 2 Spanish Supercups and 2 La Liga titles. Just Iker Casillas, Raul, and Guti have been around long enough to see the many faces that have headed the Madrid bench.
The current flavour of the press seems to be Mourinho and in the Portuguese, it is very clear that Madrid are getting superb coach: one way or another, the Special One finds ways to win titles. Titles are what Madridistas want and with Barcelona collecting them by the handful, it doesn’t matter how they arrive.
What is your opinion??? Do you think El Engineer would have been able to dominate the coming season if he was left in charge and probably given more faith by the Higher ups at Bernabau.

With Real Madrid it is not a question of right or wrong. If you are a coach there you are supposed to win major tournaments and win them by playing attacking mode of football. Del Bosque lost the job after winning the La Liga and winning the CL one year back. Fabio Capello was sacked after winning the La Liga title. Pellegrini has won nothing absolutely so the sack was imminent.
So I do not think that this is any way surprising. Let's see what does the Special One do at Madrid as he definitely would not be the one to bring in the attacking brand expected at Madrid.
Cheers!

dats exactly the reason wi i feel Mou is not rite for RM.. Pellegrini has always played attackin football with a 4-4-2 system with 2 natural wingers.. Mou plays 8 men behind the half line.. dats a good strategy bt not for a team like RM..

Only time will judge. Mourinho is a tremendous coach and he pushed Florentino so he could stay at Madrid. I think the decision was right, but Pellegrini did well at Madrid, 96 points in any league, can't be considered failure.

Hi arjunayar even I agree with you that Pellegrini should ahve been given more time. However we must remember that clubs like Real Madrid always wants to win all the trophies that they play as their fans can't wait for a long period of time. The spendings made by the club to strengthen their squad also shows the desperation that they are in and soccer is not magic it's pure science. The players needs time to get accusstomed to the new coach's tactics and strategies and the coach too needs time to assess the physical and mental conditions of the players. However clubs which are as reputed as Real Madrid can't affoprd to give time to the coach and they need somebody who can produce results straight away and who better than the Special One.However even I think that it will be difficult for Mourinho to produce results immediately and even he will take time to settle down.We have sen that a coach of the stature of Scholari ahs failed to deliver for Chelsea and has been removed by the owner. This is where I believe that Arsenal is the best example. The management trusted Wenger and are prepared to give him enough time to carry on with his policy of infusing youngsters in the team.

hey naxous your very rite. RM have kicked out Don Fabio, Vincent Del Bosque (imagine) and many others.. bt what i feel sad for all madridtas out thr is that for the sake of winning they have to resort to negative football. i av watched RM play all thru the 90's they have never played anything other than attacking football with fullbacks attacking and Hierro making killer runs.. bt alas now we are goin to c a footballin unit which does not make any effort to score once they 2-0 up.. credit to mourinho for not losing at home at 8 years. that will be the deciding factor in next season as RM lost both the classico games and the season was hence decided. well too bad for all EPL clubs the stars av landed in spain...
