Why are some people who did'nt do well in school get to be successful in life?

is it all luck... is it all good karma... is it perseverance and hardwork... the thing is they all started with nothing... and now they are CEOs or even owners of multi-million company.

That's because these people have ways to make they're dreams come true. but how can some one so smart doesn't use his determination and WILL to make his/her dreams come true. not all honorable students can make it big some are just good in academics but never been great with in teh real world. it's a fact that the real test of your education is in the outside world.

nice... you need a lot of things in life... one is "diskarte" (working smart) because if you dont have this, just working hard will not get you anywhere (its not that attractive)... you need to have edge... you need to be passionate of what you do... you need to be the best... you should have freedom to succeed... and many more values that companies looks for.

i've read something regarding academically poor people making it big. they say they have a good right brain. academics is plainly a left brain thing: iq. but eq belongs to the right brain. left brain is knowing and understanding what is being taught in school. right brain is using people skills that most left brained people have a hard time or not so superior skills as the right brained people do. academically good people had been used to structure and discipline. right brained people know how to go with the flow or attract people's attention via personal characteristics not including academically being gifted. however, not all right brained people are successful. stability happens more to the left brained ones. however, once in a while, something catches our attention as having an academically poor person succeed in life.

Who told you that schools teach success? If we look around most of the so called school successes ended up being employed under the not so successful in the schools.Schools at the most teach secure an employment for one early in their life.It does not mean that schools are making them successful, wealthy, prosperous, powerful and the movers and as shakers.People did realize this folly very recently and now are making amends to their thinking patterns.

A very large proportion of successful people did badly in school or dropped out of college because they didn't conform. People who think 'outside the box' are the ones that come up with innovative ideas. They are the ones who just think differently from the norm, so can be very creative. It's a shame that differences can't be encouraged, but it would be very hard to to do, as any education system has to cater to the norm.

not being good in school doesnt guarantee our succesfull in life, that is right. but it even worse if you are not good at school, and you have nothing you can do. you just take a little sample from someone who was not good at school and now they are success. but if you look more widely, i think people that good at school is much more who success than people who was not good at school. it depends on their hard work.

logically this is true... but if simply hard work, i think it wont or may not be enough... working smart isnt being taught in school...

Achievent during the school days is not the right criterion to judge a persons abilities. He is still in the process of growing up at that age. His dormant capabililties may play a dominent role later. Also the type of education he gets later, the kind of exposure that he is sujected to, the people who influence him are factors that shape and mould his personality later. But how many of us became what we wanted to be in our childhood? What were your ambitions in your teens? Could you realise them in life? Not many. The reason is that our destiny is not wholly written by us. There is God who has a plan about us. The more you move in the path He has drawn for you the more successful you will be in this life. The hard part of it is to know His way so early.

Maybe they are successful because the way the learning was presented to them didn't suit. And maybe when they got out on their own away from the school system, they could access information the way they wanted to. A perfect example of this is my myself and my ex-assistant. I learn better by doing several tasks at once. If I have to focus on one thing it's overwhelming for me and I don't do as well. She's just the opposite. She can focus on one task for hours. It all depends on the individual.

I feel that studies are something else, with average intelligence and lots of mugging one can stand first or do well in studies. But being successful in life is something else. One needs to be street smart and have a lot of intelligence to study the situation and act accordingly besides also have a knack for being in the right place at the right time.It may be luck, destiny whatever, but some individuals have this knack of getting everything right in life...

yes i agree. Destiny and luck really play a big role in life. And these roles start from birth. The place where you take birth, the home where you born. Your parents status etc. The son of bill gates will not ever need to look for a job even if he does not study much. Simple this is luck. And the person who works hard get the better platform to prove him if he is lucky enough.

I agree... they are so very lucky... generations after generations... when will this stop!

I think it has to do with a lot of luck and hard work. Besides being there at the right time, right place and right work do pay off...

Determination is one thing that can make a person successful. If one is not determined of doing something to up his/her standard they will not make it on top. Determination will lead you to work harder, earn more & be on top of everything.

I sometimes thought of this. I was one of the top student in our class and now I feel I am a failure. Most of my classmates now have a good career. And most of them were just the one asking my help when we were in school. Well it is just luck. And maybe this is my luck.
31 May 10
first of all, dont feel you are a failure. feel good about yourself... do whatever that interest you. same status quo or do something else...

Hello tju72377! They say that experience was the best teacher. We also have the so called thing as book smart and street smart type of person, the first one mentioned was so good in academics, memorization, exams in school but rarely got the true meaning how hard life was. The second one however was not good in academics but knows how to play with real life. Well, being successful needs a lot of factor to be able to be one, i guess hard work, perseverance, believing in one's self, knowledgeability and fate was needed for one individual to be successful. Have a nice day!

good grades in school does not guarantee future success in life. but everyone needs some basic schooling as a preparation. education is not obtained in classrooms alone. we learn something from real life situations everyday. also a person's dreams and willingness to work hard at achieving those dreams play an important role in becoming successful in life.

great thanks...

it doesn't matter how well you do in school. What really matters is your determination to succeed and the perseverance to learn. It's all about attitude. Your attitude will make or break you.

I think it's due to whether we can apply what we learn in school to real life or not. Also, our motivation and probably luck. Level of education only help us as far as we can apply it. Bill Gate can create Microsoft because he already have knowledge in the field. It didn't drop down from the sky. The same goes to other successful people.

Hi! Even if you don't study really well in school, I don't think that you will not be successful in life. These people, they have dreams and they do everything they can to achieve it. Even if it looks impossible, they still persevere to get to where they want to be, and I think that is what makes them successful. :) They had big dreams and followed them. So, follow your dreams! :D

Having good grades and a slot in the top students of your school don't guarantee a financial stability. I must say that it is hard work and determination to follow your dreams in life and fulfilling them without considering your grades you got in your school. It is all about how you trust God and how he trust you to do the best you can be with yourself and among others as well. And for me, being successful in life doesn't always mean having a the highest position and owning a big company but instead you are satisfied and contented with what you have.

loys fo times it has everything to do with who you know and whose butt u can kiss. for example if two people apply for a job and one's good friends with the employer but not the better choice that person will more than likely be hired.
