Questions about MyLot and its members

I am new with MyLot. As you can see I only have less than a hundred discussions that I participated since the start. I guess this is how one can determine how new or how long and active a member has been with MyLot. I have noticed, however, that active participation in discussions is one of the basis for earning income from MyLot. But I just wonder how discussions and responses are being rated and given its money value and what are the criteria for choosing a best response. Furthermore, I just came upon a subject for discussion where several members participated. But what was strange about the exchange of responses was that it appeared to be just chatting with one liners (a short phrase or sentence) between the participants. If this is how responses are counted, one could easily accumulate several hundred responses. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hello joepat,
that's because some of the members had known each other for a long time, even chance they would even call each other. so, some discussions are more like a chat messages because they're just having fun. you can have fun too, well, that is the purpose of mylot have fun while discussing things with your friend while earning something as a rewards.
weetie, should we help joepat in the fun department. TATA.

Hi there
if you read the FAQ's it explains all about this.
You get an extra number( this is your rating) each time you start a discussion and for your first response on other people's discussions.
So be replying 'one liners' many times on a discussion does not increase your rating.
You will soon get the hang of mylot, good luck

Thanks oldchem1. Thank you for clearing the air for me. You know, I was expecting MyLot to be a place for cordial exchange of ideas, a venue for serious and not so serious level of discussions, getting advice, sharing knowledge and gaining friends. But not a chat box or "chatter box" like in some social networks. Anyway, we'll just leave it that way and for us to just go on with more informative and productive exchange of ideas with MyLot.

I believe we earn here by posting quality discussions and responses. Sometimes It's good to have fun and just chat with other users here just to have fun. Most users here are fun to chat with and It's not always good to be serious all the time.
