I thought since this seems to be happening more and more as of recent I've been getting several emails that appear to be from a friend or family member I would post this discussion.
Question: Has your friends and family been complaining about strange emails coming from your account with no subject and some link inside?
I myself have received from 4 of my different friends or family members accounts an email like this. They usually have no subject in the subject area or a persons name, and just a link inside to some crazy website. I also noticed they are sent TO EVERYONE I mean EVERYONE in that persons address book even businesses.
If so here's the problem
On the news a few weeks ago they were talking about how someone could have hacked your account and is sending this emails out to everyone on your list.
This article has a basic easy to understand explanation of what the source of the problem could be
http://www.computeractive.co.uk/computeractive/q-and-a/2263453/unsolicited-mail
Here's what you do to fix the problem (example for yahoo users)
1: Clear your cookies and close out of everything you have currently running.
2: Go to the yahoo.com main page
3: Log in and change your password as well as the answers to your security questions
****IF you can not log in****
This happened to a friend of mine they actually got in and changed her password and everything, what you need to do in this case is click the lost password button and try to reset it that way
After resetting your password and security questions log out of everything. If you do not have CCleaner on your machine I recommend you download it as well as the spybot search and destroy.
Scan your system with both of those as well as your antivirus, and heal whatever infections your system might have.
4: Restart your computer and you're good to go.
Here is another good read in the Yahoo questions and answers

Good luck :)
If this has happened to you or you have other suggestions please contribute to the discussion. Thanks

I agree with you there gabs, yahoo does need to take more action on the stuff that happens, but even when we report it to them it really does no good.
Does it keep happening to the same person over and over again?
Also if that person frequents the yahoo chat rooms that might be where the problem is.. ( my response to dawn explains lol ). Feel free to have your friends contact me and I will help them in any way I can. You still have my email addy right? That's probably the best way for them to contact me if they want to unless they are fellow lotters of course. If you don't have it let me know and I'll pm you with it.
