I've got something to say......

United States

I am not one who likes to cause waves and truly go out of my way to avoid conflict. Well, somethings are not better left unsaid. I came across a comment left on my facebook page regarding our President being unpatriotic because he was going on vacation instead of visiting the graves of soldiers and placing a wreath. First of all, is he not entitled to a break? Further, is he not entitled to prioritize his activities, based on level of importance in relation to his job set??? If you stop to think about all that his job curtails....he's never really off the clock. If he takes a vacation, he can't completely clock out while he's in office. I did not hear of questioning the former President's loyalty to this country when he went on vacation during two of the greatest tragedies to occur in American history: 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina!!!! I am amazed at times how people can not seem to keep things in perspective. We as Americans are a spoiled bunch....and are about to get a rude awakening!!! We have to stop feeding into and believing the lie told of how we are the greatest.....our economy is in collapse, our country is in debt, our schools are outdated and failing their students.....there are people expected to live off of an hourly wage that puts them well below the poverty level. This list is long as to what is really wrong with how we live here, and still there are those who wish to point fingers and blame instead of doing what is the right thing to do: focus on how you can make this place better!!! Why are people fighting for the rights for big banks and big corporations rather than the people themselves??? Change and regulation is the order of the day and yet it is being blocked. Reform and oversight is drastically needed today otherwise America is going to end up like the so-called third world countries we claim to be liberating by our wars. Its a scary prospect.
