i am one of those people that if i have anything with chocolate "flavored" or imitation chocolate in it i will get sick as a dog.. i ate a little pie thing this morning which it didnt taste that bad but i knew it wasnt the real deal but figured if i wasnt repulsed at the taste (i hate that fake taste) that maybe i would be ok.. NOPE! stomach ache, nausea, dizzy, about to faint when standing.. ugh..
is your body picky when it comes to real or imitation chocolate? do you get weird side affects if you have one kinds? does anyone have any idea what could cause this?! im not allergic to any foods that i know of and only have bad reactions to like aspertame/nurtasweet in stuff but it doesnt mention it in there..
or is my body just a snob and wants the real thing

chocolate flavored things are just no substitute for the real thing. I love cadburys and galaxy. Not too keen on lindt though and thats supposed to be one of the best you can get.

If that's an allergy, it's the weirdest allergic reaction I've ever heard of. Stomach aches/nausea and dizzy/fainting are two completely different reactions.
You may not be able to handle the fat content in chocolate or even fake chocolate (the fake stuff probably has even more fat than the real stuff) which could cause the stomach problems but, if you feel faint without having breathing problems, that may just be psychological.
If you ate it expecting you might have a reaction, your brain could have caused these problems without it having anything to do with what you ate, at least as far as the dizziness/faint feeling is concerned.
Have you searched online for any connection between chocolate/fake chocolate and the symptoms you had? There may be something that I've never heard of.
Now, as for me having any weird reaction to chocolate, uhh, no, the only reaction I have is a big, cheesy grin on my face and a really happy brain.

well this chocolate didnt taste like it was cheap so i wasnt expecting any probs with it so i think it rules out the psychological but maybe i had something else causing one of the symptoms and the chocolate caused the nausea or something.. with my body who knows lol

A while back I read an article about "vanillin" which is an imitation vanilla, and they use vanillin in some brands of chocolates. I can't remember exactly what the article said, but apparently some people will have a reaction from it (like headaches). Yah, the cheaper chocolates are sort of waxy - it doesn't really melt in your mouth just right. That being said, I will just about eat any chocolate - hee hee.

Nope, I'm a big foodie and regular to my excercises and yoga, to remain fit and healthy :) And sports too ;)
And I really believe that yoga, excercise and sports are so good for a healthy body not just in terms of looks and good shape but also in terms digestion and health.
