People must be punished who destroy public property.
I think in these kind of activities most of the political workers are involved and due to this there is no hard laws and even if they are, they are not implemented.
I think those people must be punished so that they do not create ruckus for public and destroy public property for merely their filthy politics.
What are your opinions?

yes. I would also say, TAKE OVER ALL the property of the culprits, and make them work as SCAVANGERS in public latrines. They should be made to get ASHAMED.. by being photographed getting the punishments.
instead of the pick-pockets and silly small thiefs, whose photos are displayed in public places... I think, these dirty politically motivated DESTROYERS are to be made ....
i am very angry.. Just this day, there was vandalism all over the RAILWAY stations .. trains are BURNED DOWN.. just because of some political motivation...

Couldnt agree with you more! Now that we have sophisticated equipment like mobiles with cameras, we should take the pictures of such people, pass them on to the police, and have such people fined or sent to mental institutions for lifetime!

Wow, I see you are in India. I couldn't imagine dealing with such politics here in the United States. I guess sometimes we do not realize how lucky we are.
In our area, if someone gets caught destroying public property they are charged with vandalism. I am not positive, but I think this is just a misdemeanor. However, I am sure if they were caught doing this more than once, there would be extreme punishment.
Here in our country, everything also depends on how much you can afford to pay an attorney. If you are wealthy, and you can pay a good attorney a lot of money, then you would may even be able to get such charges dropped. However, if you could afford an attorney and you decided to defend yourself, you would probably get a huge fine, some community service, and you may even have to spend the weekend in jail depending on the severity of your crime.
I hope that some day your politicians will realize it is better to do good and help keep property in good condition so that everyone can enjoy it. Good luck to you!

Do you mean people who protest? If so I can kind of see your point. People should be able to peacefully protest against something they feel is wrong, and most people do. As for the ones who damage things, I guess a lot of them are protesting just to cause trouble and yes they should be punished for that. I think it would be easy to get carried away if you felt so passionate about being treated badly, but I still think if you have damaged public property then you should dtand up and take your punishment for it.

I agree with you that those who destroy public property should not only be punished but also they should be fined along with the political parites.
