I recommend a Macbook. Its processor is way faster than other laptops. Depending on the specifications, Macbook is a very good contender.

first of decide what purpose you looking for example: if your a graphic designer using photshop, 3dmax, Maya etc.. such software u have to choose the processor having more GHz speed, having more ram, additional graphic adaptor . second if your are normal user having just mailing ,watching movie etc.. like use you no need to bother about CPU speed ,Ram size etc. You just need a basic configuration and you can save alot of money. For first mentioned one you need to care about all these things and my suggetion is Apple, it's too expencieve allas choose Toshiba. I'll will remind you one thing don't buy Vista supporting Lap buy window 7 machine

I have an Asus laptop and it works fine. Its good and I can do anything with it be movie marathon, gaming or photoshop. I advice that you should look on the memory of ram and hard disk. Also, try to look for a good videocard and also it would be better if its wifi ready, there's a bluetooth and easy to go buttons. :)

My son bought me a laptop for my birthday. It is an e machine...now...don't laugh!!! It was only $300 at Walmart. I looked at consumer reports, and I found that, for the money, it is a very good laptop...it got good ratings. I guess I depends on what you want to use it for, but I love mine...it does everything I need it to do.

Ooopss Acer I think it's cheap but not worth buying in my best opinion why It's like no name brand sorry if I offended you. Much better to buy HP , Toshiba, Apple (very expensive) Look for specifications higher ram ,hd and faster cpu. So you can still use for a long time.
