I love eating cornbread. My husband made some this week. I cooked some dirty rice by Zatarain's. It is so delicious. I am eating some now. My husband baked some Jiffy Cornbread, and it is very delicious. He cut the cornbread into square chunks. I also broiled/stewed some short ribs to go along with this meal too. When our cornbread is made with milk and eggs, then I will put it into the refrigerator. When I want to eat some of the cornbread, I will warm it up in the microwave. So my question to you is, do you like to eat your cornbread cold or warm?

A Picture of Corn Bread Chunks - This is a picture of Corn Bread Chunks. This is exactly how my husband sliced our Corn Bread when he baked it.
Here is a picture of Corn Bread. You can bake it in the oven. It is very delicious when it has cooled off. These are cut up in squares. It actually bakes in a round, square or oval pan.

Hi, saphrina. I think that it can still be made without the egg. I am just not sure how it will taste...

It looks yummy, but as it contains egg, i won't touch it. Can it be made without the egg?

I don't often eat cornbread, but when I do, I prefer to eat it cold. Which is weird according to everyone in my family. Everyone else at the table always prefers their cornbread warm. What do you think of jalapeno cornbread? And now suddenly, I have a craving for cornbread. Good thing I'm going to the store tomorrow.

hi cream I love my cornbread cold and warm both. Ijust love cornbread'and dirty rice, you are making me so hungry. we eat our dinner here at Gold crest at the ungodly hour of 4 p.m guess its mainly for convenience of the cooks, sure not for us residents. I love warm cornbread slathered with real butter and crumbled into hot chili con carne, so good. I like dirty rice also. I am now hoping maybe we will have chili and corn bread tonight. but its likely to be something else. alas.

sounds really good tasting my dear, but sorry to say that i do not know what combread is. in the house, we only buy our bread as we don't have oven or microwave. and what we usually have is some pastries so it's good when they are cold.

I love cornbread too! But I don't make them. Usually when I happen to go to a restaurant, or even a fastfood stall that sell cornbread, I usually order lots to eat and even more to take home. The ones I bring home are the best! I usually put them in the toaster to warm them up. Hmmm....

I like to eat cornbread with lots of butter hot out of the oven......Or put it in a glass with some milk over it.....I think cornbread is better for you than white bread is.......and I always use jiffy cornbread too......

cream, it's really fortunate for you to have someone to bake the cornbread for you. From the picture attached I could imagine how delicious they are. I like desserts prepared from milk and eggs. It's sad that no one in our family knows how to bake this yummy stuffs. I would like to get some when visiting the bakery cafe later. If I were to some I would like to take them cold. It would be a wonderful taste to eat cold cornbread fresh from the fridge during scorching sunny day to go along with a glass of iced coffee I believe Happy posting!

Warm with butter and sometimes honey if eating it by itself. I also like it warm on the side of a nice bit bowl of chili. I don't like it cold at all.

Ahhh...that sounds good, I love Jiffy cornbread, its sweet and good, I like to eat mine warm with some butter on top. In the winter I make a Southwest Soup and I'll make a pan of cornbread and we eat it with our soup, I also like to have it with brown beans of course. Now your making me hungry..lol.

Yes - ha ha. Any cornbread is good . . . so we have it both cold and warm. If we don't have the time and want to scarf down something quickly, we'll eat it straight from the fridge (yah, things go bad when it's left out over here, so we put it in the fridge too). But if we're having it with a meal, we'll zap it in the microwave for a few seconds - and that's oh so yummy too. My daughter loves making cornbread with me and she will gobble it in any shape or form (or temperature) - ha ha!

Me encanta caliente y acompañado de un buen café o chocolate, frío también es agradable pero no se come con el mismo placer de acercarlo y que salga ese olor tan agradable

I like to eat my cornbread when it is fresh and hot with pinto beans. We call them 'soup beans' in the South. However, I will also eat the cornbread when it is room temperature. A lot of times we have leftovers, and I just put the cornbread on a plate and cover it with aluminum foil. Then I leave the cornbread either on the counter or on the kitchen table. Whenever I am hungry, I will just break off a piece and eat it at room temperature. I prefer it this way, rather than heated up. Another one of my favorite meals with cornbread is pork chops along with macaroni in tomatoe juice. I know it sounds like an odd thing. I just boil macaroni, drain it, and then pour in tomatoe juice. This goes great with cornbread. Very delicious. Interesting discussion you started here Cream. Thank you, and have a great evening here on myLot!

I like it both warm and cold. And I bake it with some honey. Makes it even better if you can imagine.

Warm cornbread is the best. Fresh and hot from the oven is better yet! Cold cornbread just doesn't seem to have the same flavor. It just loses it's appeal.

I prefer my cornbread warm from the first time it was cooked with out recooking. That way, I can eat it with anything. Usually my sister has to hide them from me to prevent me from gobbling them all up!!!! I love eating it with black eye peas or roast beef- pretty much anything! WE usually make it right from scratch, the old fashioned way.
