So... According to urban dictionary vaguebooking is: "An intentionally vague Facebook status update, that prompts friends to ask what's going on, or is possibly a cry for help. Mary is: 'wondering if it is all worth it' or Mark is: 'thinking that was a bad idea'" I've had some friends do this and I really don't get it.
But I kinda disagree with the urban dictionary's definition; to me it seems like a cry for attention, more than it seems like a cry for help. Anyway, it just bothers me that people do it... are we not close enough friends that you can't come to me personally or send me a personal message? Like I said before, I don't think they really want help... just attention... otherwise why would one publish something so vague to the masses?
I've seen similar postings in my lot... but it seems that if any advice is going to be actually helpful, we'd all need more details.
So what do you all think? Do you post vague questions? If so why? What are your thoughts on vague postings?

I think that vagueness with posting here is to keep privacy. We want to vent our problems, but don't want to say too much for fear it will be taken the wrong way, or discovered by someone we don't want to discover it. Same with on facebook or other social networking sites with the ability to update a status, maybe it's more a cry for attention, but I feel also that the vagueness relates to not wanting everyone, or someone to know exactly what the problem is. It's more of a "please come to me, I need to talk to someone. but a "I don't want someone (this person) to know" kind of thing.
