Dear buddies... I updated my avatar for the first time on myLot yesterday.. I am sure you might understand why I am so much excited about Avatars since then... Here is another question!!!
My avatar isn't my pic.. It is easily available on the internet, one just to google for 120 seconds for it.. 
So, can someone else have the same avatar as mine??? Or will that someone get a message 'Avatar already selected by another member'???? What do you think???
Please share...
P.S.: I hope, Alice would also tell us how it is...

Once one of my friends got most of her friends to change their avatar to a friend who was unfairly booted from Mylot. For a week Everyone had the same avatar. There are over 200,000 of us here . There Must be ones who have the avatar.Don't worry.

Hi Sarah... One member have posted the similar incident above your post.. maybe, you are talking about that... I feel pretty bad that it may happen sometime, that I'll be replying to a person with same avatar as mine... Gosh!!! Should I put my own pic then???

No! You should pick an avatar that is something you love and if another person has the same avatar , all that means is they have great taste! I Never got why women got so upset when another woman is wearing the same dress to a party. I would just walk over and say , You have great taste and smile and walk away. The only reason to change your avatar is because you are tired of it . Or it Did say what you wanted and now it doesn't!

Well hi there Mr Pearl. I have noticed a number of different avatars here on myLot that are duplicated by different users. I am not sure if some of the people like them so well that they are copying them from another user or not.
However, I do know that at one point there was one user who had been banned from a site. A lot of the friends of that user started using the icon or I should say avatar of that banned user in support of that person. There were several people, at least 20, that all had the same avatar. It was pretty interesting, and I even think that the person ended up being restored after the site reviewed the situation and found that the person wasn't really guilty of what they were thought to be in the first place.
You can change your avatar any time that you like. And, I believe you could actually copy someone else's avatar, and use it as your own.
By the way, I like yours. I reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. I was actually at the park in Connecticut of the original actor who played Holmes at the turn of the 19th century. It was a very interesting castle that he built. The name of it was Gillette Castle.

Hi Kykidd... Thanks for sharing... You seem to have been a member here for quite long and I congratulate you for that.. The information that you have provided saddens me a little ;), because I would hate to read from someone with the same avatar as mine... That'll be kind of shadowing/sharing my personlity...

Hello there! Well, it can be copied by others as it can be found easily on the internet. I noticed before that there is a picture that several users used it as an avatar- the wallpaper of sunset as seen on default images folder of any computer. Having common avatars can be intentional or just a coincidence. But if the picture used was a real picture of another user, he/she is called a 'poser' and it could be intentional. Posers exist on any community sites. It's goal is to pretend that the user is the one in the picture while its not. It can also be used for trolling, pulling down the reputation of the user who really owns the avatar not only here but also in other community or social networking sites.
I prefer to have a unique avatar, people have different impressions for it. It could be disgusting, annoying or funny and entertaining. I guess, no one will try to use my avatar.

i really am unsure about the answer to this. but personally, if i do find someone else with the same avatar as mine, i'd just change my avatar to something else.. i wouldn't want my friends to be confused by 2 people having the same avatars

i think someone else could have the same avatar as you.... i dont think mylot looksthrough everysingle pik and goes oh i see seen dat pik somewhere else lmao
