It has been over two years since Avril Lavigne released the smash album The Best Damn Thing, but the wait for new material may not last much longer. In recent interviews with Billboard and Entertainment Weekly, Lavigne confirmed that a new, as yet untitled, album will be due in stores 2010 .. ! Avril Lavigne says the music on the new album is a shift from the frenetic energy of The Best Damn Thing. Instead, the songs are much more focused on the kind of emotions that so impressed young fans, particularly female, on her first two albums. Many of the tracks are mainly acoustic with Avril Lavigne's vocals. She says the sound is "a lot different from anything I've done before."

I am also a fan of Avril Lavigne...she is one artist that i truly admired. I like the quality and texture of her voice. So clear and great in vocal range. I also like the lyrics of most of her song simply well written and good composition of words. She also is an icon for the young generation. I bee waiting for her next new album and hopefully it wont be long before it finally hit the market. As for now I will be contented to just listen to her old songs which for me still great. Above all else she is a great and fantastic artist.

I have loved all three of Avril's albums so I'm naturally excited for this one. I'm glad she's returning to her old sound. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE The Best Damn Thing, but generally I appreciate songs that go to a bit of a deeper place than most of the more fun songs on The Best Damn Thing did. I have quite a bit of confidence that this album will be another great one from her.
