some filipinos aborad snubbed the elections. i don't know how to feel. am here in the country and, honestly, i don't vote. you line up in the sweltering heat and sees no change in the government afterwards. i wouldn't bother. it's like voting to lose in the end. more of like voting and fooling yourself. no offense to those who lined up to vote . i was chatting with a cousin in the u.k. and i asked her about the overseas voting and she said she isn't sure if there was one done there and she didn't vote for she doesn't have the time. sometimes i wonder if she found something better there than here.

I don't understand why the Philippine government insist on having overseas voting when it adds cost to the skyrocketed election expenses. Why not we concentrate on the voters in the Philippine territory? We need to have better election mechanisms here.

i think it was in the news or something that i read that they say they do this overseas voting because there are many overseas contract workers and this would drastically affect any election turnout if they aren't given the chance to vote. bad thing is, they don't turn out to vote .

Hi ritchelle... sorry but I am one of those persons who didnt vote. It's not because I didn't have time but I didn't get registered. I am registered in the Phil but when I came here registration for absentee voters was finished. But a lot of Filipinos have lost faith in Philippine politics. I can't really blame them for not wanting to spend time voting.

hi Ritchelle! i agree with you that some filipinos abroad really didn't make it in the Overseas Absentee Voting. As per reports by the COMELEC, the overseas absentee voting reached 134,00 which equivalent only to 23% of the total registered voters. Could you imagine that? and it was also reported that the highest absentee voting turnout was registered in China's HongKong and Singapore were the automated elections system using the PCOS machines were held. I don't know with the statistics of other filipinos in the other countries, but i'm pretty sure they have their personal reasons why they didn't participate. :-)
