In our country most of the girls are not sent to school or even if they send to school their studies are stopped in between even if the girl wants to study because they want her to get married it may be because of poverty or because of the society that the girl has to be married by 18 to 21 years, or in some places the child marriages are done. But in my opinion it is very important for a woman to be educated because she can educate her children and not only that she will have economical freedom so that she may not depend on others and many more reasons. I want to know mylotters opinion about this discussion.

Some places and countries are being ruled by a woman. Even from the the old times, women rules as queen instead of kings. I guess you were from India, and,it is changing now. Most girls from your country are now having education. Maybe, there are certain places in your country that are following the strict cultures and traditions for women. In my country, women are free to have education and age for marrying is not a question. Women here can marry as early as 18 and as matured as 30 more or less. Women here in my country enjoys the same life and equality with men. Proof is,we had 2 women who ruled our country as the President.

yes your right thats why i love my country as in here we are given our freedom to choose of who and when to get married and we have parents who are supportive for that, sometimes our parents even disallowed us to get married early as they want us to finished our studies first and be successful though some girls at early age got pregnant out of their own will and not because of their parents.

Hi Jaiho You are right I am from India and most of the woman are well educated and there are some of the woman who are working in top positions but not in all parts of the country. I wanted each and every girl to be educated. In our country even though if a woman is well educated her parents have to give lakhs of rupees as dowry to get married which is real injustice. Women in your country are really very lucky as they have the freedom to study and marry according to their wish. Have a nice day.

actually in our country everyone can finished their education as long as they have the capacity to pay, only those poor or those who cant support their study are not able to even enter college. in our country we have equality in both education and work and our last president was even a woman we cant blame those who stopped du to lack of money as their parents will rather want to see them married and settled down than grow old with nothing since they are not well educated.

Hi homeshoppers It is pathetic that people who are poor cannot finish their college education. It would be helpful if your government take steps to educate poor children and many poor children will be educated at a very low cost. Have a nice day.

Hi KMaroon, It is true that in our country girls has restrictions. They will not be sent for school. But now that trend slowly changing. Women should have social knowledge, reading knowledge so that she can withstand on her own these all will come through education.

Hi Jotomy You are right slowly the trend is changing and most of the woman are well educated but still they have to live with lots of restrictions before marriage with parents and after marriage with their in-laws and husbands. There is a lot that has to be changed as it is a male dominated society. Have a nice day.

Hi Tankut You are right that children cannot decide about their future so it is parents responsibility to show them the right path and make them well educated. Education is a must for each and every individual either it is a man or woman.

Hello KMaroon. In my humble opinion, I believe that everyone should be educated whatever gender the person is. Education is a privilege and all should have that. It empowers people to make their own decisions, be more aware of the current events, be analytic about the situations that occur in their lives and definitely, it provides them broader options to choose from regarding what they can do with their lives. It opens doors to bigger opportunities, bigger networks and knowledge. I feel bad for most of my friends who stopped entering college when they got pregnant. They got stuck at home, cleaning the house, feeding their kids, getting pregnant almost every year after giving birth to the another one and having a hard time making ends meet.

It saddens me to learn that females in your country are restricted like that but I respect your culture. I live in Australia and I grew up with the knowledge that I had as many choices as males as to what career I wanted to pursue. I feel that women have every right to feel fulfilled by a career of that is what they want and should not be restricted to just getting married and having children. Having said that I think that being a wife and mother is probably the most important career of all and many women choose to do this fulltime as I did when I had my daughter. I went back to studying by the time my child was four because I felt I needed a change by that stage even though the role of mother is my important one. I think it boils down to choices; I feel extremely blessed to have had choices as to what I wanted to do with my life.

Hi KMaroon, I fully agree with you. As said girls must be send to school and all girls must be educated. YOU MUST BE AWARE THAT IN OUR COUNTRY(YOURS AND MINE ARE SAME) MANY STATE OFFER FREE EDUCATION UP TO GRADUATE LEVEL) so that parents do not have to withdraw them from school/collage for lack of money. an educated girl can help to a great extent in taking our country to the next level of development.

i lived an area thats is both very Christian and very conservative. one of the thing that i hear repeatedly from young women in college is that they really aren't interested in finishing. because they have only come to find a husband. and then they'll raise kids. and what is the point in getting education or gaining some practical skills if they'll never use them? this attitude violates the very principle of financial preparedness . as well as life preparedness.just because you don' think that you will use something now [ and i beg to differ i used that i learned that college everyday to teach my sister] doesn't mean you will never use it. and what happen if something happen to man in your life? what if you get divorced? working one minimum wage job will never support your family, and working two doesn't lend itself to much in terms of quality family time

I was having second thoughts if I will answer your discussion or not. I have been a fan of feminists and all my life, I believe that whatever things man can do, women can do it better. I might answer your question biasedly. But as far as my opinion is concerned, I believe that women have a rights to be educated because of the fact that they are the one who teach their children. Aside from that, if their husband don't have the capacity of looking for a job or doesn't have any job at least the family has an option if who goes out ang be the bread-winner. Everybody has an equality of getting the right and good education. Including women. I agree with what you have said, economical freedom should always be present in any culture, race and country.

Hi Joyce You are absolutely right if the husband is not able to earn money for the family then the wife can run the family if she is well educated and capable of doing job. There are many people I have seen with the same problem where wife earns for the family. If a women have economical freedom she will have the confidence to do every work with out any fear. Have a nice day.

EVERYONE should be educated, because what gives men the right to be educated if women aren't?
