What was your all time favorite, or most memorable vacation?

My family and I are headed to Southern California to visit the Bowers museum. They currently have an exhibit called The Mysteries of the Silk Road, that is on temporary display and on loan from China. We thought it would be fun to take the kids to see it, then we plan to take a tour of the Hearst Castle before returning to Northern Cali. My question, what is the very best vacation you have had? What made it so memorable?
