I got my hair cut today, and now I feel awful! I'm one of those girls with really long hair, but because its not been cut in a while, I thought the ends looked ugly, so I got about 4 inches cut. Whilst its still a little past my shoulders I feel a lot less girly! I HATE having to get my hair cut. How often do you get your hair cut, and do you like getting it cut or would you rather it was long?

aww, I guess thats easier to manage then if you keep it shorter. My hair is not as thick as I'd like it to be, but I cant complain as it is almost poker-straight when its clean :)

i usually have my hair cut ones a year.. but this year, i let my hair grow so i can have it curled.. but the weather here has been too hot, i almost got tempted of going to the salon and have my hair cut... but my mom said, i should not.. coz, if i do, i might not be able to tie my hair up... i followed her advice.. neweiz, i like it when my hair is in medium lenth, and with a side bangs.. i get compliments that i look younger... but my boyfriend wanted me to look mature so i had to let my bangs grow.. waahhhhh... by the way, dont worry too much about your hair... you will soon love it and learn how to style that hair.. anyway, it will grow back soon.. :)

I just have simply straight hair, the same length all around. I can still curl it, but its not supermodel long anymore lol. my boyfriend hates short hair on women, so he wouldnt ever let me cut it all off. He cuts my hair for me, and he dyes it too! I have him well trained :) I hope you're right and it will grow back soon!

wow... that's nice of your boyfriend.. and i can also imagine you must have a really nice hair.. reminds me of my friend, that never do some styles for a hair cut... she just want it straight and at the same length.. she would just have it trimmed for about an inch or two to avoid split ends... and her hair is really nice... i can imagine your hair the same way... and yeah.. it will grow back soon.. without you even noticing it.. :)

I used to feel like that a lot when I was younger (I'm 29, so it's not like I'm currently old, lol). I had really long, curly hair. When I would get it cut it would be because I didn't want any split ends, and I wanted to keep my hair healthy. But every time I would go, the woman would always end up cutting it shorter than I wanted it. And I'd bemoan the haircut for a couple of weeks afterward. But when it started growing back I felt better. I always preferred my hair to be long. I think my hair looked better long. Whereas my sister's hair always looked better short.

Last year I decided to color my hair blonde and cut my hair and when I saw the end result I started to cry. I looked totally different and I hated it. Everyone loved it but it took me a while to get used to it. I am glad that my hair grew out but it is nice to do something different every once in a while.

When I went blonde from dark brunette that was a huge shock. I love it now but I thought it looked awful for ages. I still say I'm brunette because I dont feel like a blonde even though I've been blonde for 5 years.

I've experimented with my hair a lot. I had it cut really short, like a boy. Then I've had it really long and then in between. Right now, it's shoulder length, but the way they cut it makes my hair stick out on all directions and I wish I had side bangs again. I'll probably get it cut again soon. I still haven't found my perfect hairstyle.

Guys really look good on a neat clean hair cut. I go for a haircut once or twice a month. It makes me look neat and I feel more comfortable on going out or getting in places. A good look really get some attentions.

I don't know. Sometimes, I like it long and sometimes I like it short. To be on the safe side, I keep it somewhat mid length...neither too long nor too short. When it's summer, I prefer to keep it short to avoid the hassle. I'm quite an active person and don't want to be setting my hair all the time. So, short is comfortable. But I avoid having it very short because it doesn't go well with my Indian outfits (so I feel). Shoulder length and slightly longer than that is fine with me. But with traditional Indian outfits, I prefer longer hair (shoulder length and slightly longer are fine too....but I need to keep my hair open and loose and it can get messy...longer hair can be tied into plaits or put up).

Hi la_chique, I keep medium long hair as well. I usually would like to have a hair cut six months or so. At the moment six months had passed but I still never visit the salon yet. I prefer to tie a pony tail during this scorching sunny season. It's easy for me to get my hair tied nicely so I would get it cut after the weather turns rather cold. It's inconvenient to have too hair. I find it's easier and handy to take care of middle length hair, both in shampooing and combing. I can save expenses as well for having hair cut twice in a year. The charge of hair cutting goes up tremendously as well after the price of commodities hike Happy posting and have a nice day

I don't like my hair on my neck really at any time, but because of the heat, I actually prefer to put it up, then I don't have to have it cut all the time. What I like to do is cut it in the fall, have it growing out and ON my neck during the cold time of the year

Sorry to hear that you didn't like the outcome of the new hair that you got. I had experience that too that i end up feeling bad because i didn't like the outcome of the new do bu then i can't simply put back my hair. hehheheheh. Well lately I have been sporting a short hair so i need a trim every now and then but then the hair length now is beyond my shoulder and it can be tied up so i find this really helpful especially it was hot for the past months. I am thinking a on sporting a longer do this time so i think i'll have it the way it is...

I'd rather have long hair cuz I dont like getting it cut, either.I had it cut yesterday, and kind of like my new hairstyle.I have short hair as usual. Its great trouble before it grows long.I mean I hate it growing longer and longer but not longer for a new hairstyle.Plus,my hair grows well.I often have it cut about once two months.I prefer short hair cuz its really convenient and cool.

I appreciate how you feel! I have very long hair and I love it. I get the ends trimmed every three months or so but the hairdresser is not allowed to take off more that half an inch all the way around. Even with a tiny trim I can feel the difference in the length of my hair. I hate scissors going anywhere near my beloved locks but a trim is needed on a regular basis. The only thing I can say is, don’t worry you still have shoulder length and it will grow back soon!

I have my hair cut when I feel like it looks ugly and it needs some body or style. My hair now is short, it doesn't touch my shoulder line but I do not feel less girly because of this. Being girly I think doesn't have anything to do with the length of my hair.
