This is unbelievable, a mother possibly taking meds leaves her 2 year old on the bus after the driver is yelling for her to return. She keeps walking away. This is crazy, poor baby girl. http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local-beat/Mom-Purposely-Left-Baby-on-Bus-Police-94847834.html

Yes she may have been crazy. However there's a two year old to think about. What kills me is some of the mothers that act like this dont have any trouble filing for aid and adding the childs name to get more money. I think that some of this could be an act. If you're crazy people wont judge you as harshly as they would a mother who left the child simply because she didnt want him. Why do women have to do things like this in such a dramatic fashion. Why not go to the hospital, police or fire station? Im sorry for being so judgemental but it upsets me so. I buried three babies. I would have loved and cherished each one. Now here this woman is blessed with child and she throws him away. How fair is that? dl

In Florida you really have to show you are unfit to stand trial. I mean they will wait to pursue charges until you are competent. Your IQ could be low and still stand trial. No leniency in this state, especially for females since they are consider caregivers. My friend is a retired cop from New York and he stated that it is the goal of the state to have every person on paper in one way or another. I feel like this is happening here in South Florida as well. This woman had issues beforehand I am sure if she is possibly on meds. Somewhere the system failed and a child is paying the price. No mention of a father in the article. This poor little girl has endured something that will mess her up for a long time. Her mom abandoning her and facing the world alone with strangers. Major trust issues have developed. Lets pray this little girl will make it despite the odds. This upsets me too. A public place is where she must of thought would be best for her to leave her child. So many questions and very little answers insight.

Poor child...maybe the mother have issues. Its good that Social Welfare has taken custody of her children.

It was definitely good that she left in a public place versus a secluded area where she could be put in a safe environment rather quickly.

I honestly believe that these must be the actions of an extremely unwell woman. I am usually the first one to say that child abusers etc should be punished, but the article does not mention the girl being unkempt or anything, which makes me think that the woman is suffering from extreme psychological problems and has just given up. I hope the family make it through this and I hope the little girl is ok - that's the main thing in all of this.

I heard this when i was driving down the road and I thought there had to be more to this story. How on earth can this mother just get on the bus and get off with no regard or conscious of her actions. I could not understand. The poor little girl that had no clue as to what happened. My heart goes out to her. As she gets older and is able to read this because people will definitely remind her, how will she cope in life in general? I mean if the family knew she had issues , then it is their responsibility to make sure the children and her are okay and in a safe environment. I know it is easy to say and hard to do but this is sad situation for all involved. I guess it was better in a public place instead of a secluded area. Prayers go out for this little girl and her family. Hopefully there will be a suitable conclusion and this night mare will end.
