Yes, this day has been set as 31/05/2010. Two unsatisfied Facebook members named Mathew Milan and Joseph Dee have started website to unite the members of Facebook to quit on that day. The website named quitfacebookday.com has set this day for quitting Facebook, because of the privacy concern, if you're thinking that Facebook doesn't respect your data and your privacy then you can commit to quit Facebook on that web site, on that day. There are already 24439 committed Facebook quitters. What are your plans ? Are you unsatisfied with Facebook? Commit to quit on that day.

The new privacy policy says that they may share your personal information with third party. Is it matter for you?

I could easily say I would quite for a week. There are many of times that most of the posts are a whole lot of nothings. Gibberish but that is my opinion. I have well over 300 personally known friends on my facebook and well I don't need to know that they are leaving working right now or that they just had a cup of coffe. Remember we are friends so I know your schedule. LOL, somtimes I want to know thing I don't know or something I can contribute to partake in your happiness or perhaps something I can do to brighten your day. So I am in I can quite for a week.

Just about a week? It's about quitting Facebook permanently.

I think I could handle permanently, in fact I use to be a facebook novice and in January lost total interest and had not logged in until May, and found that I had not missed much. In fact I have an application on my cell for facebook and during January through May did not check it once; so can I quit permanently? yes!

Facebook has over 300 million members worldwide, quitfacebookday has 25000 planning on quiting. I dont think this will even register with FB in the slightest, they probably get more new members joining each day. The privacy policy is pretty simple to understand on FB , you can change your settings at anytime. It's up to each member to show some common sense. IT'S UP TO FB USERS to learn how these settings work, all the info is there, yet people still complain, crazy. Just my opinion. PS what does quitfacebookday intend on doing with peoples names and email addy's after the 31st.

You're right that if there's 25000 or something committed to quit face book, then that will be like glass of water taken out from the sea. What you say?

I keep on hearing these complains of people who are facebook users about the privacy thing. I am not aware what privacy they are talking about. I am not very much active in facebook except when I am responding to my friends messages. I am not on face book the whole day using the farmville and what other games they have. I am not really an avid fan of facebooke. I am just log in when my friends greet me. And I don't have a plan of quitting yet. Not this time.

No no no - I can't quit Facebook! It's my other outlet besides myLot - ha ha! I can understand the privacy concerns, but I don't have much up on FB that I have to be truly concerned with. Well, it's already that day . . . and I have already checked in on FB, and goodness no, I have no intention of quitting!! I love Facebook - I just not satisfied with the changes they keep making and the glitches that continue to be glitches.

Ya, that day has gone. Though many people are there who are not satisfied with the privacy concern but still not intend to quit.

I like facebook a lot. I have met my friends during grade school and high school with facebook. I love the games and applications and how you can really interact with other people. But facebook has a lot of security issues. I think it is the best factor that I need to consider. I'm careful about posting personal information there but I do not have plans yet on quitting.

@chiwasaki Right, one must be careful in posting personal information on that, actually not only at Facebook but every internet website.

Oh I agree, I have also re-encountered old grammer school and old alumni friends on facebook. It's just some of the nonsense that goes on, I have a blackberry that has facebook application right on my phone, so whenever a friend updates, comments or posts pictures, I get on my phone an email from my facebook account and a duplicate alert to the facebook application. So really do I need to know that you just drank a cup of coffe 4 to 5 times a day? Do I realy need to know that you just walked your dog or that you are going to the gym. Don't get me wrong if that is a persons kind of thing but tell me something I don't know? Something I can learn from, or something I can help you learn from? That would make for interesting conversation. I mean what do you respond when a friend says going out to lunch. Okay is all I could say or nothing at all.. hmmmm do you see my point?
