whay do people giveup their lives?

all of us had problems and there is no exemption even if your the wealthiest or prettiest or the most powerful..humps or obstacles in life is inevitable like death. but why people opt to escape from it by committing suicide..does this mean weakness or hopelessness...need your spiel.tnx
