Meditation is not easy.It needs concentration of our thinking and focus of our breathing. Go to quite place, the most ideal is sea. Buddhist believes that water contributes positive energy to our body.I've tried this for many times and it's very soothing and relaxing.Sit properly with head slightly bowed. Put your two hands on your lap. Think that your riding the clouds. When you inhale, take it from your stomach and when you exhale, release the air by opening your mouth...this requires a too much practice before you can achieve the upper mind.

Hi, Lilly!
Meditation is one of the most valuable things I've ever done. I found it very difficult until I found a coach, who guided me in a number of meditations until I was able to do it myself. There are many books, videos, etc., that can help, but I think a coach works best, because the training is personalized...
Best of luck. It's well worth the effort.

I have Fios and can get a lot of features on my television. There is this one free on demand channel called Madrag. I happened to come across a 30 minute beginners guide to meditation. It was so amazing and I felt like a different person when I was done. I was so peaceful, refreshed and relaxed. It does involve breathing exercises but it is more complex too. Try seeing if your library has an dvd's on meditation. You will love it!

I have tried different kinds of meditation. I don't use any of those techniques at the moment, but I have used some of them in the past.
At first I tried a technique where I had to focus on my breathing, but that didn't work that well, and I kept thinking about other things instead of my breathing. Then I tried a technique where I had to create a picture of a watch inside my head and I had to imagine that the hands were moving from 1 to 12 over and over. I found that a little easier than the breathing technique, but my favourite technique is a technique where I use a mantra. I keep on repeating the same mantra over and over, and that works pretty well (for me)
There are many other techniques and if you are interested in trying I think it would be a good idea to read a book about meditation or look for information online. You often have to try different techniques in order to find the one that works best of you. Good luck
