I have a problem sometimes with my patience. I tend to be less patient specially most of the time. What ever it maybe I am waiting, whether it would be a new gadget, or for someone. Well, at the moment, I am waiting on announcements of new technologies being released in like a month or more. But, an older version of a gadget is on sale, at a sort of cheaper price. So, I am asking people from mylot. Do you have patience to weight for something? or would you quit waiting? Or get erred out at waiting for something? or someone?

am very much aware that waiting is part of everything in this world. however there is a proper time on how long to wait. other than that it is mere fooling somebody else. traffic all the time? well go early so you'd arrive on time or set a later time. delivery late because of this and that? call in advance so i wouldn't wait holed up in the house all day. not yet committed to marry? well, a hooker is in a nicer position since she's paid everytime. am waiting for 7 years for you to marry me!
those are just samples and the last one is certainly not a personal experience. i don't like being fooled and going way beyond the decent amount of waiting time is allowing someone to make a fool out of you. if you can take it, go for it. if not, there is no problem. leave at once.

i believe there is an alloted time to serve customers in line in a fast food chain. am not pretty sure how long. as for waiting for the food while sitting down to be served i believe 15 minutes is the recommended time of waiting. but as with other cases, i love to read anything and everything. you can look it up the net to find out how long it is alright to wait in different circumstances .

When I was in the U.S and other countries like Singapore, and Hongkong it did not take 15minutes. It was quiker, employees in a fastfood restaurant had a system. Unlike, here where I am from most of them do things in circles. And tend to forget to punch an order most of the time. Just like today, I ordered a sandwich, and coleslaw.. The cashier forgot about it completely, she even said, something about if i had anything I wanted. When I asked, where is my coleslaw she said ow sorry I forgot to punch it in. WTF is that?

Well, I know waiting is always part of life. But, when do you think waiting and being patient has to end? Because sometimes or most of the time people where I am from abuse patience. One example of this is, fast food joints here, I really thought it was fast food. It took the cashier to get things done after 20mins. And all she did was go in circles. Now, that my friend is a waste of patience. This happend to me multiple times.

Hi. Well, we are going through the same feeling here. One of the personal issues that I'm dealing now is my patience. Oh gosh! I just don't have enough patience to wait for all the things that I want to happen in my life, such as job. It's been months that I've been looking for a job wherein I'll be able to apply the course I've finished, eventually improve what I have and a job wherein I can find fulfillment and growth. Every time I think about it I just can't help but wish that time can be fast-forwarded. Then I would pray to God and ask Him to let me understand every thing's that's happening in my life, and to help me accept that some things just have to be waited and that patience is really a virtue that I have to practice every day.

I understand this post by hunterkim_07. I've just applied for a teaching position in public school. I had passed my requirements last February. I did the demonstration teaching, interview and examinations last April. They say that the result of the ranking of grades will be posted this end of May. However, it will be June already and yet, there are still no news on our application in public school. I am starting my Master's Degree soon and I have to spend money on it. I am looking forward to have a teaching job in high school this opening of classes so I can have money to spend in my studies. My cousin who is a high school teacher waited for so many months before he finally get a job on a public school. He keeps on telling me to be patient and just look for another job while waiting for the result of my application in the public school. I also keep on praying with God to give me a chance to work in a public school. I am not quitting in waiting. I know that if I have faith and belief, God will make a way for me to realize my goals in life.

Yup, that is hard and understand how you feel bro. It is really hard and still be patient about things specially when you have been waiting for so long, like for a job. I have felt this way before losing patience, losing motivation, and losing hope. Hopefully, things will be better and you will successfully find a job. Best wishes to you and Best of Luck. Thank you for sharing and responding. Happy mylotting to you!

I have little patience if I have to wait for someone then he promise and fail me. I would accept advance apology or let say he would tell me frankly he don not need me than to give me false hope. Since I would not like to rely on promises for me is always meant to be broken. So it is best for anyone who come to trespass me to say it in advance since I do the same things I hate to make promises so the person who want to be my friends should need to tell it honestly rather to keep me waiting in vain is very annoying to me. i feel like a martyr if I have to wait for so long then I see nothing. I lost patience and do not like to make myself believe for something which is impossible to happen. When it comes to things like the one you mention I would not wait I just let it happen since it is out of my control like the products to wait for it. it would come on time so I would not like to rush and when it is already available and I have my money it is then i would decide to buy as long as my interest is still there.

Well, yeah but what if you are waiting for a unicorn? It might not come and you lose out on something. Waiting is a gamble, either for an object or for someone.

Whenever I was asked to share my likings and disliking in any of the orientation program, In my dis liking list, one thing always came at top, That was "I hate to wait for anything" But gradually my attitude keep changing and now I have waited for some one for long three years, though that waiting period was turned in failure, as I didn't get, for whom I was waiting for. But I understood the importance of wait patience, cool headness, temper control etc etc. And now I can afford to wait.
So this is my simple and may be boring story.

hehehehe. Waiting for someone is sort of good and bad. But, most people I know specially westerners do not have the patience to wait. All even know a japanese businessman that my dad partners with, and he does not want to wait for long hours.

hi jacobus,
yes,i have the patience to wait for someone or something.well, sometimes it depends on the situation,my friend!
when i was in high school it was the first time i experienced commuting transportation.
i have no choice but to wait for the jeep that i will ride to go home.we are living in the mountains,my friend so there were few jeeps available there.
then, sometimes when i wait for someone i just keep myself busy like listening to music or thinking of things we have to go and have to be done. make myself not bored.
sometimes we really have to be patient,my friend!

Well, yeah patience is important. But what do you plan to do if a person abuses your patience? Patience will always apply in anything we do. So, how will you be patient with a person who abuses it?

Thank you for your advise.. Patience is trained. I can see that because I am not that patient most of the time. I want things done fast and quick. Maybe that is how I was brought up, I want jobs done fast and quick without having to wait.

I don't have patience to wait on people, especially if they're "repeat offenders" (what I call them in my books - flaky people who don't deserve for people to wait on them). I have patience when it comes to buying things and waiting for new gadgets to come out..Because rarely can I afford to buy them even when they come out! So there's no point in me looking forward to them. lol.

I know the disgust when you wait for people who are "ALWAYS" late and seem to have a new excuse every time they are late. But, hey on the gadget side, it is always good to dream, dreaming and making good use of that dream will bring you somewhere. Dreaming and hoping for something and doing something about it will help you succeed too.

I need to patient in the sense that I am the one need most
of her services. To accomplish something I try to be humble
in waiting her. But in a situation that they are the one having
agenda with me then If I cannot wait I will go and inform that
I am in the other place doing something. It matters if I am
the one asking favors or not.

i hate waiting for people who say they are coming at a certain time and then are late especially if they don't send a message saying that they will be delayed. at times i wait for about 30 min then just leave. i hate waiting for doctors who post their consultation hours as such and such but then come an hour or more late. people make appointments to see them during their consultation hours and end up wasting a lot of time in the waiting room. in this case i have no choice but to wait for the doctor. i have experienced waiting as long as four hours!

hahaha I am in the medical field, and I am in medicine as well. As per experience, Doctors should not be late. But, sometimes they have to do rounds and they may have emergency cases. But the proper thing to do, is to inform the secretary to inform the patients waiting for that doctor that he might be coming late.

I am in the same boat. I was brought up to be on time, and to be punctual. If the appointment is at 9am I would arrive 15minutes earlier to make sure. But, hey you can never avoid being late, you know some things just happen. But, if it goes on for awhile that is a whole different story.

Well, at least you have patience mostly. But for me, it depends on the mood. If I am on a good mood I might have extended patience. But, for those days that I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, patience seem to be like as small as an ant.

I believe that everything is a cycle. You just have to wait, then have it. Found something and wait some time again to have it. I think waiting is really hard especially when you are always thinking about it. Now, when you are waiting for someone, I think you should consider if the person is worth it. If not, then go don't wait because somebody else there deserves you more.

I think so too. As of now, I can not wait to get that gadget that I have been wanting for 3 months now. But, with the scheduled releases, I think I will wait. I might get something better if I do. But, in regards, to a person, I think I did find the person that I think I would happy to be with. Time will only tell.. So, hence, I still need patience. I am still in Med school, I can not leave Med school to start a family, I am incapable of supporting a family just yet. Hence, again I need patience.
Thank you for a good response! Happy Mylotting to you!

Most of my feelings toward being patient are that I tend to be very impatient if i'm sitting waiting for someone or something to arrive not because i'm impatient at all just because i get very anxious easily. But i can say this for myself i've tended to be very patient when waiting for someone to come around for the last year i've felt very strong for someone and they have hinted around that they feel the same but have not confirmed it at all and i have sat back and waited and i'm still waiting for them to come around and actually tell me how they feel wether it be the same as me or completly different.

Well, I know how you feel. For one thing, I waited for a shirt that was suppose to arrive 1 week ago, but did not come. Now, the company sending the said shirt informed me that there is now a problem. Another, situation was when, I had a problem with my DSL, the tech support person said, a technician would call me, I waited the whole day for it. But sadly, no one called or even came over. I was so pissed at that. Service is service. I pay the right price and at the right time (on time), is it too hard to ask for on time service as well?

No I don't have patience to wait for someone. I myself try to keep my appointments and try to reach their by at least 5 minutes before the time, and I also expect the same from others or think at least they should inform beforehand that they are going to be late. Second thing I do not have patience to wait in the queues especially when queue is not moving for the long time. Though internet has eased this scenario. But there are few places like while visiting a hospital but in that case there is no other option in such cases I just manage with reading something else.
When it comes to technology or other things, though I dont like to wait but there is hardly anything that i can do. So I just wait, because there is no other option.

Hello Jacobus. I'm guilty. I used to be so impatient and I'm worst in waiting. Anyway, I learned to take my time once in a while. Not to be impulsive and not to jump on doing things without thinking much about it. Probably because, I needed some time to think to make sure I'm not wasting money. As for waiting people, it depends on who I'm waiting for. If it's just someone I'm waiting for an appointment, so long as he comes on time, I wouldn't really get impatient. But if it's someone who's been late for an hour now, well, it's them who have problems. LOL.

Well, I am weighing the odds still for waiting for a new gadget to be released. But for people, I was brought up to be on time. Sometimes I can tolerate people being late. But in this country where I am in, most people are 1 hour late and it seems to be so annoying

Yup, I have tried that as well. I waited for like 2 months to get my car fixed. It had a problem with the mechanism that turns both tires to the left which makes it harder. So, the entire assembly had to be changed and more. Plus, parts had to be ordered from other places. I had to wait and take the public transportation for 2months carrying huge books. And after two months, I called, It was not done yet!! errrrrrr So, I had to wait for another week. Luckily, I got the car back. Then, something was wrong again, the plugs were not checked. So, I had to have it fixed again. It took a day because it was a busy day for them. So, I had to wait another day AGAIN!
