When I was in my senior year in high school, My uncle told me that he knows someone who works in a talent agency. He said, they're looking for new talents and if I want he will refer me and I will audition. I said, I'm not into those kinds of things, plus for me, I don't think I'm as beautiful as the other models, and personally, I think I don't have any talents at all. But my uncle, my mom, and my ldest sister, insisted that I try it. They said I don't have anything to lose, I'll just go there and audition. Finally I gave in. The next week, my uncle took me and my oldest sister to his friend. His friend gave me a form to fill up. there are questions like are you willing to guest, do hostings, do you sing, dance, etc. I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack while filling up that form. I was like, what am I doing here, this is not me. After filling up the form, He introduced me to a make-up artist, and then he gave me a make over. After that, the guy led me to a room and closed the door behind us. There were lots of spot lights, A large camera at the end of the room, and at the other end, was a white drape. It was a small studio. He instructed me to stand in front of the drape. It was only me, the talent coordinator, and the camera man in the room. When I was in front of the camera, I was surprised that my nervousness vanished. Maybe it's because There are only 3 of us in that room. He began instructing me to do some things. Smile, twirl around, turn around but your face on the camera, flip your hair over your shoulders... he almost told me to do everything. I was so surprised to be very comfortable in doing all these things! While the VTR was ongoing, and he's telling me to do all these kinds of stuff, he told me, "You're cute. I love your hair, but you have a little highlights. Remove your highlights and then maybe I'll line you up for the shampoo commercials". Duh! I'm not as pretty as the models. I look too ordinary to be a model. Finally, the VTR was over. He told me that they will contact me as soon as there were new commercials to audition for. After a month or so, I received the first ever audition request for them. It's for a body wash commercial. I did another VTR for that commercial, but I didn't get the job. After a couple of months, I received another call. It was for a shampoo commercial. I did another VTR for that. They said, I was great, so I was so happy about it. They said they'll call if I get it. After a week, I lost my cell phone. The worst part of it all, is that, my uncle lost their contact numbers. Dammit! It was like a bad dream. My mom and my uncle said that I have to go to their office and tell them what happened and give them my new number. I refused. I figured that maybe, It wasn't meant for me. *sigh*

Even though you say that you are not cut out to be a model star, you still got highly complimented. I'm sure you felt good to be in the spotlight. It was even evident that in the shampoo commercial you did well and you might even have been considered a natural with your soft silky black hair. =)
One never knows what the future will hold. =)

I just wouldn't do it, period. Not my kind of thing. Then again, I don't think I'd be chosen to model anything at all. I have a hyper personality and some talents, but good looks isn't one of them. Acne is my major problem.

Goodness. I'd break windows if I tried to sing.
I don't think I can act. I mean, maybe. I never tried. I might get stage fright. I can play 2 instruments though and obviously, you've seen my posters...

Oh!You should not hesitate to contact them. Not all persons are lucky to get selected for commercials and you can have a decent income too.Your story was nice to hear and I don't admit your thinking of fate. The ball is still in your court and you can play it wisely.

Well it was a long time ago. I was still in my senior year in high school that time so it was too late now. Plus, I'm not really into those kinds of things. I'm just a simple girl. But the experience was great. ;)

Almost eh, not your dream though, the dreams of your family. Pursue your own dreams, live for yourself.
You are more then beautiful enough to be a model though.
Remember, what you think most about in your life is generally what you get.
So think highly of yourself.
I love you.

Hi Sophia!
Oh so sad that you are already nearly there! anyway maybe this is not the right time but yet assured,if it meant to be that you will be one, then you will become one. I remember perfectly when I was in high school, one gay agent approach me & ask whether I wanted to become a toothpaste commercial model ( I really have good teeth shapes)but then I was so shy and eventhough my relatives & family told me I should try, still I hesitated. When me & my brother were in college, while in a mall my brother was approached by a talent agent to be a model,he tried but I told him to stopped as photo/commercial shots last until early morning & I don't want him to neglect his studies.(he do blame me sometimes that if I didn't stopped him,he could be a famous celebrity by now,but I do defend myself that if he is,he won't be a successful engineer by now).Anyways dear,If it really meant to be yours,it will still gonna open its door for you as before I was not given a chance but when I was working overseas I was given a chance to model in online photography & some products back there...hope you get another chance Sophia!have a great day!

Your story was great. You must be pretty. Keep it up. As for me, I doubt that I'm gonna have a second chance. Like I said above, it's not my thing. So I guess it was only for an experience and it wasn't really for me. I don't think that I will be happy with something I that don't like to do. THe important thing is I'm happy. Good luck on your modeling career. ;)

Wow, Sophie! I think you're a beautiful girl. I really do. And even if you think you don't have talent, someone out there might. And obviously, they do, because they called you. If they didn't think you could suit the job, they wouldn't have tried at all. You really should go back and tell them what happened to your phone. Obviously, you had fun with the audition (or so you said). What's it hurt to try, honestly? So what if they don't choose you. At least you can say you tried and had some fun while doing it.

Nah, If there's one person I know who doesn't have any talent in anything, that's myself! And even if I didn't lose my phone and I wasn't chosen, I won't care. Coz It's not really my thing. I'm not a model material. Thanks for the compliment but I don't think I'm beautiful enough to be one, seriously. Lol.

But in this case, it doesn't matter what you think about yourself, because you're not the modeling agency. They pick you because they like you--they don't pick you because you like yourself! Believe it or not, I really do think you'd be good at it.

Not for you? Girl you didn't go back! LOL. Anyway, It's what you feel comfortable the most that is important. If your the practical one, you would have jumped on the chance. That was the worst luck ever though, losing your cell when you're about to get a call...tsk tsk... By the way, I can take your photo for a portfolio if you want.. LOL
