What Is Going On With Tony?

After watching the season finale of NCIS, I have to say that I am worried about many things - Jackson Gibbs, Gibbs himself and especially Tony. Tony is my favorite character and I was really worried that something would happen to him in the season finale. No, not because I am afraid that Michael Weatherly will not be back - I would like to think that CBS and the PTB at NCIS are too smart to let this man get away, and his fans with him. I was worried that he would get hurt while he was in Mexico. I breathed a sigh of relief when he came back but the worry was there again at the end of the episode when I saw him in Mexico tailing Alejandro Rivera. What was Vance thinking? Sending Tony to Mexico by himself to tail a member of a very dangerous drug cartel. A member that probably saw Tony around the NCIS headquarters when he visited or who has seen his picture on the dossier I am sure Bell made up about Gibbs and NCIS. Many people believe that Vance knows that Franks is alive and will be there to help him, but I think that Vance believes Mike might actually be dead. Even is this were the case, everyone knows that Franks does not play by the rules - especially when his girls are being threatened so I don't know how much help he would be on an "observe and report" mission. And does Gibbs know about Tony being sent to Mexico or did Vance choose to take this step on his own? I'm thinking the latter since I do not believe that Gibbs would want Tony in Mexico even if he thought Mike might back him up. Even though Tony is a good agent, even good agents deserve backup. I'm thinking Gibbs will be very upset with Vance - much like he was with Jenny when he found out about Tony romancing La Granouille's daughter. And I can't help but remember all the times that Gibbs has told Vance that he wants to trust Vance (or whoever is sitting in the director's chair) to keep his team safe and to not repeat the same mistakes Jenny did. What do you think about this? Do you believe that Tony will get hurt while in Mexico? If so, do you believe that Gibbs will be upset with Vance? Do you think that Gibbs knows about this? And is anyone else as thrilled as I am about Franks and Tony teaming up together? While I am worried, I believe it will be fun to watch these two work together - especially since Franks has started calling Tony "Probie" too.
