Sometimes, I have heart palpitations, although tests show I have a health heart anatomy. My blood chemistry is always all normal. My heart functions perfectly except when the palpitation triggers--which last from 5 seconds to sometimes 30 minutes. When it doe not go away, my doc told me to take 40 mg of inderal. I've been having this problem, although I'm healthy and athletic. My other doctor (internal physician) surmised it might have to do with my reflux. And I notice that, yes, my palpitations happen when there's trapped gas in my tummy and it goes up to my upper body. Anyone here also has this problem?

Hey, Urbandekay! Thanks for replying! Good to know we're somewhat on the same boat--as far as palpitation is concerned. This palpitation--it's like a trick. Like last Saturday. Day before, I had my usual workout during mornings and then on Saturday, rest day from workouts, I decided to have a hair cut. I was feeling good and strong. Then, when I was home, I decided to wash my hands--then the reflux acted up and the gas went up and triggered a 40-minute palpitation (when I went out for a haircut it was so HOT!). After the palpitation, my BP and heart rate were normal, and I felt great again. It's crazy. When it's hot the gas in my tummy stays a long time (so stubborn it won't release thru a belch), and my tummy would bloat, and sometimes that builds up pressure. Drinking cool water and walking around helps a lot. Thanks again!

Might sound odd but have you tried standing on your head for the gas?
