Our scary drunk neighbor....

Last night, about 11 pm, we heard many people shouting- they were like fighting or something. I was still up but my mom was awakened by the noise and peeked at the window to check it out..she said that maybe the guy was drunk [again] , the guy who always looks for a fight whenever he's drunk. Mom turned off all the lights and told me to sleep already..she was a bit scared because our neighbor owned a gun- and if the fight became worse he might use it. The shouting and fighting went on for a few hours and my mom kept watch..Later today she found out that the drunk guy got angry because someone asked him a riddle and he couldn't answer it..a boy ridiculed him because of that and he hit the boy in the head. The boy bled and went home to get a knife..that's why the wife was shouting madly and everyone was shouting too- to keep them from hurting each other.. Luckily no one got hurt...Alcohol brings nothing but trouble...

no kidding! But your neighbor needs help. How awful to be violent. Imagine how many people he has/will hurt.

lady - and for your family having to live right next to him is terrible! stay inside and low. Eventually the guy will land himself in jail for a while.

dear lady, i used to know a place like that because i was able to live for several months. my gosh! i told myself, if i dont transfer somewhere i will have a heart attack in that place. i wonder why the barangay tanods have not acted when there was already violence going on. ann

I have lived at a place where we had the same kind of problems. The neighbours were often drunk and they were very loud. One day we got pretty scared, because one of our neighbours was very drunk and he kept on knocking on our door. We didn't want him to get in and we tried to ignore him, but he kept on knocking and shouting. When we didn't open the door he tried to force the door open. My husband tried to talk to him through the door, but he was too drunk to listen and he just kept on knocking and shouting. I was scared of him, but I was glad that I wasn't alone in the apartment. After a while our neighbour finally gave up and left. We didn't not miss the neighbours when we left that apartment!

Good thing he didn't hurt anyone...when I'm drunk I just laugh and laugh, I never get violent.. You should call a 'tanod' or something if that ever happens again..

It is unfortunate that people who act out in that way when they are drunk are often the ones who cannot stop drinking. I have one friend who drinks all the time but he is a happy drunk. One can only hope that someone close to him will make him get help. Without that person getting hurt in the process.
