hi guys! a thought just hit me and made me think. it started like this. my friend asked me, "were you really inlove with your girlfriend when you courted her? or was it just a mere infatuation?" so i was thinking. what's the difference between infatuation and love?

Well the meaning of infatuation is, "A foolish and usually extravagant passion or love or admiration";"Temporary love of an adolescent";"An object of extravagant short-lived passion." On the other hand, the meaning of love is to have a great affection or liking for someone. However, this alone is not enough to know the difference. There ought to be something more than this. I think the difference becomes clearer when you know the meaning of true love. In true love, you cannot just live without the person. When two persons in love are not together; and they begin to feel the absence of other. If they feel that, they just cannot do without the object of their love then think it is a true love.

Love is when you care about the person as much as you care about yourself. Infatuation is like a deeper crush on the person. I'm not sure. A friend just told me this.

my thoughts on this is that there's a very thin line between infatuation and love. i think infatuation is when u like someone for all there good attributes, there beauty, physical attractiveness, nice smile and all that stuff that you will get tired of sooner or later. you love someone when you accept them for their faults as well as their good attributes. you know you love someone when you accept them and want the best for them even if it aint with them being with you. just my thought
