Those of us of a more silvered generation will remember this jingle...
Well, I don't know why it came up today, but the roomie was wondering if KenLration was still around, so, of course, I had to go look it up.
Apparently, a company called Skippy makes the stuff and they are still around!
I guess I've now created an earworm for all my friends who know the jingle.
Sorry...
but we'll all be singing it together
you know it?

Hey Elic! Yup! I know it! And Yup! I'm singing it! And Yup,
thanks for the earworm!lol That's funny because I remember
the commercials (in black and white)! They had some beautiful
dogs on there slopping up that slop! Thanks for making me smile!
I'm really grinning taking that walk down memory lane!

Yeh, our dog wouldn't touch it either - can't remember exactly what she ate mostly, but it wasn't KenLration... she did eat different things, gravy train, those little semi-moist things when they first came out, different cans of food
and she got 2 bowls of milk every day, one in the morning and one after she ate her dinner

Old?
Mmmmmm?
Sometimes.
It's year dates that give me a shock once in a while; like when someone might say:
"Yeah, last I heard that jingle, was around 1978, or so."
...and I'm thinkin' to myself...
"Gee, that was only about 12 years ago. That's not THAT long."
...and then, it hits me like a thunderbolt!...YIKES!, HOW long ago?
O.K., so here's another one for ya.
Do you also remember the jingle; "Kibbles 'n Bits"?
Do they still make that stuff, or have I grown out of that one too?

I do not know if I want to think hard enough to remove the earworm, or block it with something else. I also have a sub plot of "I could Have Danced All Night" humming underneath it all. I do not know why, as I have not danced in ages. I can perhaps type all night.

looks like your having a problem I've had in the past, Gerty...
yeah, I generally have something running in my "background" that seems to be a bit better at killing other earworms, that one would work pretty well, a happy song with a not to hard music line

hi ElicBxn I just barely remember thatone but i remember
that our dog swap hated Skippy with a vengeance. I was just thinking of a song I think Doris Day sang in a movie about Calamity Jane and wild bill'Hickcock. It went something like I can do anything better than you, then the actor playing Wild Bill would chime in no you can't,and she would sing Yes i can but now with this senior moment and impending low blood sugar I do not remember the rest of it. Hatley signing off for low blood sugar reasons. sorry

You know, I just did a task on music, and between that task and this discussion I will be singing in my sleep.

My Dog is better than your Dog. My Dog is better than yours. My Dog is better because he eats KenLration. Oh my dog is better than yours!
I remember that. It was almost snob appeal, but it was funny and the dogs were cute, so it really wasn't.

Oh my, yes I remember it and I'm singing it in my head right now. Great, I can see it's going to be a long day, haha. That was a cute commercial though. So it's changed to Skippy now, amazing that it's still around.
My dog Chips, (back in the 50s) use to get a canned food called Ideal dog food. I remember how I loved the smell of it when I opened up the can. I dread to think of what was in it back then with everything so changed today. She lived a long life though so I guess it was ok.

I remember the song. It will be in my head all day. I couldn't remember what product it was for till I read the rest of the posts. I must say it does make you feel old to remember it!
