I've been having trouble off and on with my freezer, as well as the fridge, but it finally died and the repair guy said it wasn't worth fixing. So, he declared it dead and told Sears they have to replace it. So, we went and picked it out last week. Today they brought it. It was amazing! Those 2 young men just carried that freezer in. Well, okay, they had it in this sling thing that allowed them to carry it. Still, they managed to get it in the house without taking either the freezer or the house door off! I'm STOKED! It was already at 0ºF with in 4 hours of being plugged in and we've started getting stuff into it. Biggest deal? I nearly have to drag that thing across the room to get the door to open! You have any pleasant surprises lately, like mine getting a replacement for a bad freezer?

Most pleasant happening was an e-mail from a former classmate containing a copy of the minutes from a gathering in Stillwater, OK of our high school. He also sent 6 pictures of those that attended. I wish I could have been there. There were only 18 of us when we graduated, and lately, they've been dropping off at 1 or 2 a year. If I don't make it to one of the gatherings, there soon won't be anyone to meet with.

It was a small school, 202 students in all 12 grades. It couldn't survive now. Two other districts have been consolidated to it since then, and they are still concerned about being forced to consolidate to a larger district. It would mean extremely long bus rides for some of the kids. Some of our bus routes were 60 miles long when I went there.

Sounds awsome that they replaced it for you for FREE! We've had lots of little pleasant surprises.... everytime I wonder how I'm going to pay for something. We get a check in the mail for like our anniversary, hubby got offered over time, or someone offered me a few $ to get something done for the kids. Someone's looking out for us somewhere.

well, they gave us a limit of $830 to spend up to, and we spent most of it!

Having a spending limit is still better than being SOL and having to pay for that all out of your pocket again KWIM? Enjoy it! I hope I can get a freezer with next years tax refund I love finding food deals but if it's something perishable I need somewhere to freeze it

Enjoy your new freezer. :D My most pleasant surprise recently is that when I took Dearra to a specialist for her scoliosis, he told us that the curve in her spine was within normal parameters and that she didn't have scoliosis. Hooray!

That is great! I would not know what to do with out mine. I have hopes to do garden excess for winter with mine. Off topic, but to my son & husband's amazement they saw one of the neighbor man carry a full size freezer out of his house alone. Wow

They could not help telling about it. My men are good sized and this guy was not much larger. He seemed to have it balanced well and just walked with it.

So the freezer problem was a factory defect. I am glad you have it fixed. My freezer is great, but I had to defrost it today. I have had it twelve years I think, and it seldom needs defrosting, but I am getting ready to have lots of produce to freeze, so it was time. We just keep it so full that it is hard to find a good time to do so.

Congrats on the replacement. Pants that were too small are starting to fit me. My brother remembered to bring things for the Memorial Day repotting of flowers and putting the pots at the cemetary. Every year, he doesn't seem to remember, but he did this year.

Hi Elicbxn, Thats great that your were given a new replaccement for the old freezer. I have recently had a new freezer myself but I had to buy but was still really pleased as was expecting to pay a lot more and it fits perfectly in a space under the counter rather than in a corner where the old chect one had to be, it means I now have room for my table and chairs in the kitchen, so I am happy with mine too. Huggles. Ellie :D

I recently had my mattress replaced. The place I bought it from gave me an 1 and 1/2 window for a delivery time. That was soo much nicer than having to wait the whole day for something to be delivered. My friend ordered a stove from Sears, and they both work second shift, so they told them it would have to be delivered before 2. When they got home from work the day they bought it (around 11) there was a message that it would be delivered around 4. They called and told them that wouldn't work. The next day when they got home from work there was another message that it would be at 4. After the third try they did get it right, course it was on the weekend. I guess it depends on the store and the people that work there.

Hello friend!! Thats great that you got replacement for the problem of your freezer. Well, I have not replaced any things so far in this manner but yes once we had problem with our television. We called the company and they sent the person to solve the issue for free. Oh, yes once we had problem in food...I guess some insect or some hair in that so we had asked that to replace... ha ha Good for you that you have got a new freezer so you can use it more efficiently..
