Do you attend the local parade in your town? We do. It's important to thank our sevice members past and present for the hard work and sacrificing they have done for us. If you do not attend, why not? If your town doesn't have a parade, why? I realize not every town is near a military installation, but I'm sure a National Guard unit is close by. (They are everywhere!) How do you celebrate Memorial Day?

You know, I didn't even hear about one in our town. But, to be honest, I doubt we'd go. May 31 in S. Florida is MISERABLY hot so to stand out in it for a parade in a crowd would NOT be fun. Most of the parades here are in the winter months with the last one I'm aware of on St. Patty's day.

Occasionally we go to a parade, but this year it was a relaxing day at home. A nap in the afternoon and now my husband is watching a ball game. Also it rained and he got out only to feed the animals. Age is catching up with us i guess.

No,no parades here even tho I am very close to a military installation. I celebrate by being married to a Viet Nam Veteran /disabled. I go to my grandkids ball games and then decorate my loved one's graves. My brother and my daddy were soldiers and I make sure to decorate with red, white and blue. A lot of people have picnics, etc but we enjoy the AC :)
