the taste

Some months back I had some skin ailments..Doctor prescribed some medicines. I took them and then I found that I was feeling no taste for any food. My taste buds had become inactive. I could not eat even my favourite food, ias my taste buds were no more working. I would only starve with all the food kept in front of me. Then I realised how precious a gift the sense of taste was and how unfortunate a situation I would be facing without it. Thank God that there is this thing called taste...for food which we take for granted until we lose it.

This is what my wife and children complain when the doctor prescribes antibiotics. They say they can't distinguish taste. They say everything tastes like cardboard after these heavy medicines.I suppose strong medicines have an effect on our taste buds and they inactivate them.

..Too bad that you lose your sense of taste, you cannot enjoy eating food without it - I thinks it's called ageusia.. When I got severe colds, I would experience the same thing, it's like all the food that I would eat taste the same. But it always get back to normal once I got well. Did you consult your doctor about it? Didn't he know of the possible side effect of the medicine he prescribe? I hope you get well soon...Ü

Yes!taste is one of the five senses and losing it will result in frustration to even our favorite foods.Well, all medicines have some side effects and after the course completed, you will regain your taste buds.By the way,did you complain this to your doctor and what did he say?
