Gender, age, location, whether a user has been here a long time or has just arrived all make no difference at all to whether I respond or not. I am interested in the topic and if I find that I can participate in it then I do.
The only thing that influences me is whether a user comes back and comments. Those that do get my preference over those who do not

If I had more than one strand of hair, I could add a bow to make it easier
but it keeps falling off everytime I try

Hi Jotomy, The only criteria if at all I follow is to look up friends discussions first.Other than that I like to respond to those who have responded to my discussions. Then of course there are my topics of interest and I would like to pick some discussions from those as well, also a couple of discussions from the no response category- so here gender just doesnt fit in - all the best and happy mylotting

no i never look at the gender of the person whom i am responding.
i dont think many will look that.
it the topic which matters not the gender of the person who posted it.
happy mylotting

I respond to discussion when i felt that I have something to share and I can sense that I have valuable input in a certain topic that is being discussed. It doesn't matter if it is from male or female's post as long as it is something that you can impart knowledge and gaining information as well. We must avoid exclusivity i guess, which means that women should respond to female's post only and same as male's. If this happens, we are becoming bias and just narrowing down our information to a certain gender's perspective and opinion. We're avoiding the chance of getting more information as we can and that way we'll be able to observe how men and women reacts or give their opinion to a single topic and see the differences :D

i respond to discussions based upon the content of the discussion and if i feel that my knowledge or view will help the discussion started, it has nothing to do with gender.

I really don't care what the gender is, as if the discussion is interesting, then I will respond. That is my basis for responding, and also I respond to my friends discussions too, and there again, it doesn't mattter what the gender is. I never pay attention to the gender, and I probably won't either, as that is immaterial to me. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Gender is not a factor to me, as far as discussions go.. my response will be added simply on the basis that I feel I can give some advice or information to that chosen topic, besides here you do not always know as to whether you are replying to a male or female, but as I said it is not something that plays a part in my discussions or replies.

hmmmmm I think you already know the most of the answer but still....
See I'm a male and hardwired to be attracted to females so no one can deny that part and this logic do influence sometimes our decision(s) but but but sometimes I don't even look who has started the discussion as it sometimes I repeat sometimes depends on the topic as well....eg I don't know whether Jotomy is a guy or gal name but here the topic I found catchy so replied....

Hi betabharat, well you can't make out with the name whether the person is he or she. Topic is important. And this is a social site where gender will not give preference. That is the reason i didn't mention my gender. I am female. Thanks for your response. Have a good day.
