Now that it's starting to rain, and summer is almost over, are we going to experience heavy rains this time? What are your preparations for the coming rainy season??

I'm just curious, why do you need a roof on the yard? I thought a yard is a garden and therefore the plants need sunlight.

Well, since we are already affected by climate change and global warming and other environmental problems,we can expect heavy rains and storms. It really gets worse year by year if you noticed. We should be prepared for all of this

It is really getting worse, I notice that too. I hope that our government should be more prepared than anyone else. Have you heard the news about flood in central america, I think that it starting already. I just hope and pray that when these strong typhoon comes, we will all be safe.

I hope we won't get another Ondoy and Pepeng here in our country. I have bought my umbrella, and I'm ready for the rains, and the most awaited cold weather. I think I've had enough of the sun and the heat, although I'm sure I would say otherwise once the heavy rains are here already. Let's just pray that heavy rains would damage crops and livelihoods, and the roads and other infras here in the province.

During summer we really miss the rainy season, but this year's summer was really hot that the weather reaches 38degrees and worst water levels are low that we encountered electricity shortage, i always thought of having a miracle rain then. And now, summer has coming to an end but guess what instead of being happy, we are worried because we will be expecting a tremendous storm.

Yes, that's what I think too sometimes, what if we would encounter much worse than the previous typhoons we had. I noticed too that even if the rain is not that heavy, it will flood immediately. I think our draining still contains muds that were left during typhoon ondoy, which makes it easy to flood in the streets again.

I miss ONDOY, I remember everything outside were flooded and washed off while I was in my bed sleeping. I was shocked when I woke and saw some of our neighbor's scared and helpless and the streets we're like kiddie swimming pool. Good thing my house is in good shape, but I also pity those people who got seriously affected. Anyway, If it would happen again we'll I would say "bring it on". LOL. I'l just sleep everything away. Sleeping is very good during rainy days right here in the Philippines.

Yeah, sleeping is very good with cold weather. But now, I cannot sleep when the rains are heavy anymore. I guess ondoy really made me paranoid when it rains hard. The flood went high in a matter of minutes, and I do want to be prepared when that happens again.

Well, as I was a victim of Ondoy last year, and because I know there is a good possibility that it will recur, climate change, global warming and all, we have made some immediate and long-term plans. Our long term plan is to change residence, one not prone to floods. I need to save up first so in the meantime, we have some contingency measures: (1) prepare emergency backpacks for every member of the family; (2) agree on emergency evacuations and contingency measures when the typhoons arrive.

More prepared. Because as what we experienced no rain at all from summer season. Definitely more rains will come this rainy season.
