Socks: Where do they go?

Where do the socks go between wearing them and being washed? In the dirty clothes hamper right? Well, if that were so, then all the socks would have a match when done drying, right? Where did it go? There aren't any on the floor..I picked up after the kids. They aren't in the bathroom where a child could have left after showering. Under the bed...couch...in one of the dogs? Is there an invisible guy with only one foot? Where the heck do socks go????

Not a problem. I am hoping that best response will help you keep me in mind when you catch the sock monster. Cause I am going to make him give me back every sock!!!!

The socks want to escape and be free, so they hide against the wall of the dryer and hope you won't find them.
I've solved this by taking to the laundromat a large lantern (to help me see inside the dryer) and a five-foot spear (to help pull the socks off the dryer drum).
The people at the laundromat are really nice, they give me plenty of room to pull my socks out of the dryer. In fact, they leave the laundromat altogether when I do my sock removal...

i think there is a sock monster that takes them, and he has a whole stash somewhere. i dont know what he uses them for either.

I can tell you where my socks go, I don't think that it is the same as where your socks go. My socks get throw away by my wife. Apparently once socks get holes in them she seems to think that you need to get rid of them? Does that make any sense? I mean really, just cause they have a little hole doesn't mean that I can't keep on using it.

Then your wife is like me! I throw away the socks that have a hole too.
But, I have had to take a step further because my boys are like you...they keep wearing them. I would ask them if that was the sock that I threw away and they tell me that the hole isn't that big.
Soooooo.....I see a hole in the sock, I rip it so it it too big of a hole for them to even try to bother fishing it out of the trash for. LOL If the hole is too big, you won't wear it. :)

Good question. I think the odd sock elves steal them, the same as the teaspoon elves that steal all your teaspoons.;)

Hey! I have one of those too! I had a huge stack of teaspoons but somehow they have dwindled down. LOL I guess I am going to have to keep an eye out for that spoon stealing elf too!
