different breeds off dogs r treated different for example some1 having a small dog and people r ok with that but if like myself u have a big dog like a rottwieler people just look at u in disgust it really annoy's me this does as a yorkshire terrier can turn just the same would nt u agree that it doesn't matter what kind of dog owned if it isn't brought up right u will have problems with it later where if u spend the time 2 train ur dog properly it the best friend ul ever get yes it could still turn but less likely i think anyway

I know exactly what you mean... I had a staffie, and he was huge even for a puppy, they had such reputations as far as dogs were concerned, much like the rottwieler, but people gave me funny looks and made me feel like a bad person having such a dog... however he was the most softest well behaved dog ever, and he never hurt anyone, all he did was play, and snuggle up to me.

Some dogs have a bad reputation, like pit bulls. To which I have known many loving pit bulls. I had a chow chow when I was younger. My vet kept telling me to be careful as Chow Chows are the second most aggressive breed. I don't know what she was talking about. Yes my dog was protective, but her bark was worse than her bite. She was super loving with everyone. It really is all about how you raise them, like you said. I've known some tiny dogs who were little terrors and would attack me. Those dogs were spoiled and not trained well. So no matter how a dog looks, it's about the training. Any dog can be your loyal best friend :)

dogs are like kids they respond they way you treat them and when buying a dog i think you need to think of the size of the dog and the space they have to live in, when i had an acre of land i had retrievers now that im in a smaller area i have a yorkie.

I have a rottweiler and she is very sweet. My family brings their younger children over. We tell her, "Look, Shay, a baby!" and she will lick the child's forehead and wag her tail. She is around thirteen now, but she has been this friendly to children all of her life. She used to be a bit rambunctious and playful when she was younger and could move around more, but outside of play she would never hurt anybody, and if she did hurt you in her play it was very unintentional. She has never bitten anybody, and she has only ever growled at someone once- we have never allowed the person back into the house.
I try to educate people about dogs. Some breeds to tend to have a more aggressive temperament (kind of how some people have a "shorter fuse" than others), but most importantly it is how you raise a dog that results in how they behave as an adult. If you raise a dog to fight, it is going to want to fight because the dog is loyal to you and knows that that specific behavior is what you want to see from them.
People also have to remember that anything with teeth can and will bite, regardless of training. I work with animals. A dog may nice and sweet, but we have dogs that have to be muzzled just for procedures because they have a tendency to bite when they are uncomfortable. That is their natural instinct.

We have big dogs on the ranch, it's just to dangerous for a small dog. Dogs reflect their owners and how they are cared for and trained. Ours a watch dogs and bark first and may bite if they feel threatened or feel we are threatened. But so far I have never had one bite a person and I don't want to. Small dogs because of their size are much more prone to bite and I don't like that.

Yes, i agree. It doesn't matter what kind of dog it is, if you don't raise it properly it will become a problem for other people. I have an experience with a small size dog who really annoying, always barking and act tough.
