I am a little surprised today that we did not get any feedback information from our American colleague and then I checked the date information in the internet. It is the Memorial Day as below.
"Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time."
I just wonder that all of the office will be closed on the last Monday of May, just to deliver the remembrance of the revolutionary martyrs?
It is true that they contribute a lot on the peace of today, surely it worths of our remembrance that it is not easy for today's peaceful life and we should cherish it.
What are your activities on Memorial Day? Will you still be on mylot today?

I rarely go on mylot but today i decided to - out of the blue. I went to a barbeque all day, which was rather nice and a change of pace. My husband is an active duty Marine and his friends who are either retired military personal or contractors. I don't think that too many people appreciate the freedom's that they do have. My husband has been deployed twice so I am always grateful to hae him homw.

It seems that we are on the same way. I just wonder that I would like to leave the comment or opoin here when I am out of the blue. It is great to have BBQ to relax yourself.
You hubby is an active duty Marine? Does it mean that he has the little chance to be with you? I really hate the war and I think the peace could bring the best benefits to people.

I observed Memorial Day on Saturday by joining my grandmother in her yearly cemetery visits, which span 2 counties. We placed flowers on the graves, real for the ones we visit regularly and artificial for the ones we only visit yearly. We enjoyed a beautiful day fondly remembering those we have lost.

I see that most of the people would spent their times on the cemetery visits. It is a great time to commemorate our relatives or families who lived in the heaven far away. I thought that Memorial Day was to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs sacrificed in the War, but it seems that it extends to be a rite that we go to the cemetery for commenting the passed away, right?
