Any ideas? There is one boy and one girl we need to buy for. We don't know either real well so we aren't sure exactly what they are in to. She is a cheerleader going to college to become a judge (of course she has to be an attorney first) and she already has taken some college classes and is super smart, but still pretty, nice and athletic. He isside in the "in" crowd, but is middle of the road. He's a smart kid and plays on the football team. He is going to a motorcycle repair school this fall. I hate to just give cash because that seems lame. Any other ideas? We did get the girl a dog that she can have her friends autograph, but other than that we are stumped.

I would suggest a gift card too...
Others will be...
For the college girl a fountain pen, there are people that likes fountain pen. Or a necklace if you can afford it, or a makeup set.
For the boy a set of tools.. sounds like lame but you can try it.
But the gift card would be my best shot... they get to decide to buy what they really want and/or need.

If they are going to college, you should buy something they could use in college. When I graduated from college, I had to go shopping over the place to find a microwave, a mini-fridge, XL Twin bedsheets and other things for the dorms. It would certainly been very sweet if a family or friend bought me one of those things for my graduation so I don't have to buy it myself. The graduation gift that I did get was a silver bracelet engraved with mt graduation date and year and also my name. That was lovely too but just remember ,a college kid needs a microwave.

As other's said you can't go wrong with a gift card as they can then use it to get something they really need or want. Towels and wash cloth sets are always welcome especially if they are headed to college. Cash is also good put in a card. For the boy try a Harley Davidson Bandana or two or wallet with Harley on them they popular with motorcycle folks. Also possible a Harley T-Shirt. For the girl some legal pads will come in handy and pens lots of black or blue pens. I have two attorney's in the family and one is my son and he never had enough of either along with 3x5 Color note cards and sticky notes all those are a must have in college.

I have one that is graduating this year, and I can tell you, kids want money! It might seem lame and impersonal to you, but they couldn't think of a better thing to get. Especially since summer is just around the corner.

If price is not a problem for you, try giving them laptops, cellphones, vacation/tour packages, or furniture (if they are moving out of their parents' houses). If you are concerned about the price but doesn't want to go too low, go for a watch, clothing gift card, camera, recorders for lectures, or engraved jewelry. If you have a tight budget, good ideas would be books, organizer or planner, or desk accessories.

For the girl I would asume that she will be living in a dorm of some sort for school, if she is a gift card for target or bed bath and beyond. She is goint o need bed linens and accessories. If she is staying at home you can give her a really good agenda/planner to keep herself on track for college.
As for as the boy you can help by buying him motorcylce supply stuff or gift card to auto zone.

I'm not good at choosing gifts I usually would just buy something generic you know what I mean.If it's a highschooler going to college, I'd probably buy something she/he will definitely make use of in college. Like notebooks, a fine sign pen, or a pair of jeans --- but the trouble with buying clothes is that it's kind of hard to guess the wearer's accurate sizes.

Gifts for the kid who is going to college are very much appreciated. A laundry basket (can be small from dollar store even) filled with little essentials for a dorm can not only be thoughtful but really helpful for both student and parents. things such as bathroom caddies (most dorms have shared bathrooms) survival guide or more basic supplies such as bathroom, cleaning, and laundry items.

Give the girl a hug and give the boy a vip pass at the hottest strip club in town.

I have three graduates this year and I will be giving them each a check like I always do. I don't know what they would really like to have and I want to make them happy so why not let them decide?

Gift cards are really good when you don't know people well because they can go and buy what they want. How about buying them like a $25 gift card for itunes or their favorite store or the local mall?
